Grogar, the Father of Monsters, retrieves his Bewitching Bell which was sealed on top of Mt. Everhoof. Once he reactivates his long-lost artifact, the Bell awakes itself and beholds its old master and friend. They have a strong connection which not even the Treacherous Trio would understand or grasp. Both the ram and the Bell have plenty of secrets to share as they have their first one-on-one conversation after so many years of absence from each other.

(Note: This happens after MLP:FIM season 9 episode 8 “Frenemies”.)

After her uneventful defeat in The Blockywockys, Allura and her sidekick Twitch face an uncertain future as they are now stuck in a realm far from home. However, an ancient foe of Equestria meets her within a nightmarishly dark realm where he presents an opportunity for her to gain something more desirable…but at a cost. Will she accept this offer or stick to her own legacy?

Tambelon The ancient capital of Equestria is now locked in the Dark Dimension but its inhabitants are waiting for the day when they can return to Equestria!. Shave Grogar's right hoof has become the Ruler of the City. He intends to send his apprentice Cozy Glow to Equestria with an important task on which the fate of Tambelon depends!.

It's been some time since my last fanfiction around here. I hope that I've still got it. Anyway, this is the next entry in this series of mine if it should be called that. Many were expecting Twilight Princess, but that is a huge undertaking in and of itself, and since it's been so long since my last story, I wanted to go with something shorter. Don't expect this story to be an epic readthrough in terms of word count as I'm not trying to set a record here.

As always, each chapter will let you know which MLP/EQG character is portraying which Link's Awakening character.

Grogar, remembering his name but little else, awakens on a distant island inhabited by batponies. He quickly learns that the world is quite different from the one he knew, and he will need a guide.

Waxing Gibbous, a young batpony mare, finds him and offers to help. She quickly learns that the world is much larger and stranger than she ever imagined, and she'll need a guardian.

They set out together into a world that's still adapting to the return of magic. They want to find out who Grogar is and where he came from, but they may not like the answers.

Thousands of moons ago, before Equestria was even founded, the merciless Emperor Grogar took over a land of pastures inhabited by ponies. He reigned the land with an iron hoof, restricting their freedom in every way he could, terrifiying and enslaving them.

However, everything would change when an unicorn mare stepped in. Find out how she got involved in the game that would change Equestria´s history forever.

Grogar, the Father of Monsters, manages to escape from his prison, but instead of returning to Equestria, or any part of Equus for that matter, he finds himself in a strange new world, aboard a large boat that is in the middle of a voyage to a new land, and with a new body. However, he finds that something is preventing him from leaving this world and returning to the one he came from, forcing him to band together with a lone Handler that has no A-Lister Hunter to team up with and a lone Palico that has no partner, in order to survive in this new world and learn about it. From there he will have to learn about the dangers of the New World, adapt to the monsters that call it home, and find out why the massive beast known as Zorah Magdaros headed to the large island in the first place, along with any secrets that might be waiting for him and his new allies.

Author's Note:

This story strictly follows canon and is meant to replace Season 9 Episodes 24-26. As such, all attempts are made to avoid OOC behavior and other elements not seen in the show such as shipping, excessive violence, use of prohibited language and allusions to fan-made content. Consistency is maintained with the dialogue present in the finale trailer. The overall goal in writing this is to address the numerous issues that I, along with many others, had with the last three episodes of the show and to give the series a proper conclusion by building on the plot threads set up throughout Season 9.

To best follow the format of the show, the POV or internal thoughts of characters is not depicted beyond what would be seen in an episode. Only visual descriptions and dialogue are used to convey the plot.
