This story is a sequel to Guardsmare Twilight

Many months have passed since Twilight and her friends rescued Princess Luna from the Nightmare. Now that the Everfree Garrison is fully set up, Twilight is looking forward to spending more time with her friends, especially Luna, with whom she has formed a close bond. But nothing is that easy and danger always lurks in the Everfree Forest. With reports of a strange shadow piling up on her desk, Twilight is forced to act.

Luna and Celestia's fight took a rather different turn from in most universes. Instead of assuming a corrupted form, Luna took those who supported her and left for the moon, where she and her followers still live a thousand years later. But sooner or later, worlds must collide, and when the ponies of the moon meet the ponies of Equestria, the sisters' conflict won't be so easy to resolve.

But maybe not all alternate universes are so drastically different.

Maybe some are only slightly to the left.

Even though Twilight gave it back to her after his rampage was over, Cheerilee doesn't want to keep it.

They finally revealed themselves in the mid 21st century. After hundreds of years of clandestine observation and experimentation, they admitted defeat in their quest to prevent the genetic death of their race. Thus, they gave us their knowledge and technology in the hopes we could avoid their fate. But the gifts came with a responsibility: we had to assume their role in overseeing and protecting the various worlds they had taken under their wing, or in some cases, had outright created as experiments. Amongst these is, of course, Equis, the one experiment world with a full ecosystem complete with non-human sapient natives, and we can't exactly wear a body suit and expect to fit in.

With no response from Princess Twilight during the Friendship Games, Sunset decides to go back to Equestria and talk to her face-to-face. Upon entering the portal, she is thrown into a alternate time-line that is in a constant loop. Nothing makes sense and with every second it makes even less sense. With only Twilight and another pony knowing what's going on, Sunset must help make it right again.

So little is remembered about the days of Ancient Equestria. Now, with the magic of friendship restored, the curiosity of Sunny Starscout sets her eyes upon a strange old journal among her late father's belongings.

"The Daylight Horror" by Twilight Sparkle. Between those pages, Sunny discovers a harrowing tale, suggesting that the late Princess Twilight was quite the versatile horror writer.

After all, it is just a creepy story... isn't it?
