Famine grips the world. Celestia has no choice but to take what the citizens of Equestria need to survive from other countries by force. She forms the Solar Empire. Whirlwind, a Pegasus from Cloudsdale and old friend of Rainbow Dash, decides to join the Solar Empire Air Force alongside Rainbow to fight for their country, friends and families.

But all does not go well. Whirlwind, now branded a traitor to the Empire and Equestria, finds himself on the run even though he was only following orders. Can he outrun the biggest and most powerful empire in the world's history, can he live with himself after what he had to do to his best and only friend and can he restore peace back to the world?

Filthy Rich and Mayor Mare are running for Mayor. This is their first, and only, town hall debate.

This story is a sequel to Ponyville Holds An Election

A year after Ponyville's first and only (botched) election resulted in Mayor Mare staying in a job she often dislikes, she has become quite the lush. One day, Spike – tired of his thankless existence under Twilight Sparkle – walks in on the mayor while she is inebriated. After throwing caution to the wind by allowing an underage dragon to imbibe, the two begin to rant about their issues. Mostly Twilight.

Lyra and Bonbon have opened a detective agency and are taking on their first case. What starts as a some missing muffins soon escalates. Now, it's up to these completely unlicensed non-professionals to solve the case. Oh, somepony also dies.

The Wagon-Wheel Rally, one of the largest events of its kind in Equestria, has decided after two decades to move to Trottingham due to construction in Ponyville. Supporters are furious and decide to take it out on a hungover Mayor Meyer Mare, who treats them with her usual brand of (dis)respect.

Ever the law bidding citizen, Twilight Sparkle never thought she’d be in a court trial, but when the mayor of Ponyville asked her to co-preside over the town’s latest case, who was she to refuse? Besides, passing judgment onto ponies is just the practice Twilight needs if she‘s going to rule Equestria.

However, Twilight’s inexperience might just lead to her downfall, and the consequences of her mistakes might be too much of a punishment for her to bare.

Regardless of what happens next, Twilight will learn one important thing —

The legal system is a joke.

Twilight and her friends are leaving for a week-long vacation, leaving Ponyville in the very capable hooves of Lyra and Bon-Bon.

Twilight Sparkle moved to Ponyville last week to start her new job as town librarian. In between making friends and saving Equestria, she meets another pony whose orderliness, punctuality, and love of paperwork matches her own: Mayor Mare. But will their love be a match for the Equestrian Civil Service Code, volume 13, chapter 22, paragraph F?
