Takes place in the background of "A Hearth's Warming Tail". Apple Bloom tries to comfort Diamond Tiara when her parents don't show up for the Hearth's Warming Eve party at Twilight's castle. Before long, the two friends start to talk about family.
A broken-spirited Spike waits for news of Twilight after an accident lands her in the hospital, dancing on the fine line between recovery and the unspeakable.
(A quick little epilogue to "Grannies Gone Wild", taking place directly after said episode.) Now knowing just what her elder granddaughter thinks of her and her pals, Granny Smith decides to have a chat with Applejack concerning her rules.
Collab with Matt11. When Filthy Rich unexpectedly dies, Diamond Tiara is dropped off at an orphanage by Spoiled Rich. The filly is soon adopted by Dizzy Twister, Scootaloo's mom, which leads to a huge shake-up in Scootaloo's personal life.
(Collab with yodajax10, takes place after "Father Knows Beast" for obvious reasons.) In the aftermath of the Sludge incident, Princess Luna intervenes to help Twilight and Spike cope with the after effects. Spike especially will need her help.
Problems are something everyone in Equestria has to deal with, big or small. Some problems have obvious answers, some don't. And sometimes, a pony chooses to deal with their problems on their own, no matter how much help they really want.
(G5 Spoilers!) Sunny Starscout tries to understand how the three pony tribes drifted apart so long ago, and ends up bringing Princess Twilight to witness what has become of Equestria after all these years.
(An extended epilogue to "The Washouts".) Lightning Dust receives a visit from Rainbow Dash while in the hospital, recovering from her stunt. Surprisingly, Rainbow Dash comes not to lecture but to ask if things could have been different.
Diamond Tiara runs away from home without her tiara, and moves into Carousel Boutique, much to Rarity and Sweetie Belle's surprise. Later, when Diamond is kidnapped by the diamond dogs, an unexpected pony comes to her rescue.
"Celestia, I - don't understand. What's going on?" Twilight asked, voice shaking with anticipation of the answer. Celestia opened her eyes, irises flicking back and forth between raging orange and peaceful violet. "I have fallen," she replied.
Sunny and Hitch learn that a dragon named Spike was responsible for sending Sparky's egg to Maretime Bay. They and their friends then seek out Spike to try to get some answers about what happened to Equestria and Princess Twilight.
