It was a long six months, but thankfully it was finally over. After an uneventful tour of duty patrolling the Tzenkethi DMZ, Lieutenant James Scott, Helmsman of the Akira-Class USS Juno Beach, was glad to be rotated off for three weeks shore leave.

Crash landing outside a small hamlet town inhabited by Ponies, a Starfleet Officer must find a way to make the best of thier situation.

Title is in homage to the novel of the same name by Thomas Wolfe

A disgraced warrior haunted by his past and an imprisoned artificial life seeking freedom are sent hurtling through space and time to end up in a world quite different from their own. Can they adapt to the new reality, or will the darkness following them consume the world of Equestria as well?

When Twilight Sparkle slipped beneath the covers last night, everything had been fine. She had friends whom she loved, a teacher she adored, and a bright future ahead of her. But when she woke up, her blankets and quilts had been replaced by hospital gowns and padded restraints.

Everything is wrong and nothing makes sense; even her friends have changed. The doctors keep telling her that she is sick, that none of it was real and that it was all in her head. Yet she remembers a life far beyond the hospital walls. She couldn't have made it all up on her own. They must be lying… right?

Breezy Beach is a travel writer with a stalled career and an editor that doesn't return his calls. Fluttershy knows it is her honor, her destiny, to have been born into the Lunar Guard. She knows it with all her heart. But sometimes, when she can get away from her drills and be alone with her animals, she is beset by doubt. Sometimes, as she straps on her armor and raises her spear, she wonders why there is so much disharmony in the world.

Sometimes she feels like Equestria is missing a little kindness.
