With all the beings that exist in Equestria, from Discord to Alicorns that control the sun and moon, Minotaurs, Griffons, even Ursa's, is it so hard to believe in more outlandish creatures? Monsters an ordinary pony would call "supernatural" are not so odd when compared to the things dwelling in the Everfree Forest.

For Rainbow Dash, these creatures are about to become all to real in her world as she is forced into the darkness by a seemingly crazy pony. Not all is at it seems, however, and as truths start to come out she learns things about her friend she never could have believed had she not seen it with her own eyes.

Six months after the debacle with the Wonderbolts, Rainbow Dash comes home from another tour with her flight squad in time for her marefiend's birthday.

However, Twilight gets more than just presents for her birthday, and the return of a problem they thought solved long ago is heralded by a mysterious package left on Twilight's doorstep.

Reading of Cheated Dreams is required for you to understand anything in this story. Teen rating is for implied sex and some more mature themes, especially down the line.

Rainbow Dash has dreamed of being a Wonderbolt for as long as she can remember. She's trained herself every single day to be better at her craft so she may one day join the team. But, when her dreams finally seem achievable and she is just about to reach out and grab them, a rumor breaks loose, leading to her goals slipping out of her grasp. Hopes and spirit gone, she must clear her name or forever have cheated dreams.

After Twilight walks in on Rainbow Dash snuggling with one of her favourite plushies, she becomes interested in what other things she has been hiding from her.

The Mirror Pool is a dangerous tool and after being asked by Princess Celestia our heroine Twilight Sparkle finds out what problems can arise from such strange magic. When a creature of little inhibitions and great magical power is released on the small town of Ponyville what can our stalwart friend do to stop her.

Spitfire, leader of the famous Wonderbolts, notices Rainbow Dash flying too close during one of their shows and wastes no time in alerting security. Rainbow is dragged off, but not before pulling off an elaborate maneuver that catches the flyer's eye. After the show, the two run into each other again, but this time, security isn't alerted. Instead, Spitfire insists on taking the mare out for a cup of coffee and a talk.

One of her teammates is oddly unhappy about that.

Notes:~~~ A look at same-sex love in the military before 'Don't Ask, Don't Tell' was repealed. This is obviously an AU, one that takes a more realistic approach to homosexuality in the military. Also, and I'm surprised by the amount of opposition this received, the Wonderbolts are a military squadron. Yes, they're performers, but they are still a part of Equestria's "Armed Forces", just like the Blue Angels and the Thunderbolts are in the US.

Alright guys, this is my first story, just to let you all know. Another quick note is that I haven't sent this through an editor yet either. So, feel free to give me your constructive criticism, and maybe some tips for the future, as I am pretty new out here. While typing this up, I'm not even sure how to submit a story, let alone edit this later for chapters, just to give you a hint as to my level of experience. Twilight Sparkle had always loved dancing. However, she was never very good at it, so she contented herself to watch others. When she heard that Princess Luna was starting Equestria's first ever annual "Lunaris Absolvo" Dance competition she immediately wanted to enter, but remembering all of her past attempts at dancing, with her birthday party being the most recent, she realized she would be laughed out of the competition before the first song even ended. But then she found a tutor in a pony she least expected.
