Luna returns from the only place she remembers, to a world and two sisters she isn't even sure she loves. Although she is assigned a tutor to help her learn all that she has forgotten, the feral filly-now a young mare-is unsure that she will adjust and become the Princess of the Night everypony expects her to be.

Despite these challenges, she remains fixed on trying to find home, wherever it may be.

Vinyl Scratch received an amazing pair of headphones from Octavia, and she swore the cans were god sent. Unfortunately, Principal Celestia had confiscated her new eargasm inducers, and she won't be getting them soon.

Vinyl decided to take them back.

A new year, new powers and even another chance at the Fall Formal was everything she could have hoped for! However, on her first day back at school, she soon realizes the magic they wield might be more than they can handle. And if Sunset doesn't find a way to control her powers; her life, and the friendships she's forged, could shatter right in front of her eyes.

Long ago, the Monsters and Humans fought a great war. The Monsters lost, and were sealed in the Underground. It would take the power of seven human souls to break the barrier that kept them imprisoned. They only had six. And so the Monsters waited and hoped, praying that another human would find their way to the Underground. Some thought the seventh soul would give their King the strength to break the barrier. Some dreamed of a human who would be their friend, and save them all...or had nightmares of one who would bring back the war.

...but nobody came.

...but somepony did.

Eons after the war, with no way to tell how much time had passed above, a tiny blue filly with wings and horn fell into the underground, calling for her Mama. None knew the poor creature's nature or origins...but her soul was powerful with magic, even more so than a human soul.

None can know what will come...of this little 'Woona'.

Worthless, weak, ugly—as far as Twilight is concerned, that's all she'll ever be. Even three months into their relationship, Twilight still refuses to believe that an absolute goddess like Sunset could ever love a loser like her. And it doesn't help that Twilight spends every night being tormented by nightmares of Midnight Sparkle, the one being who hates Twilight more than she hates herself.

Twilight can only remember a single moment in her life when she felt strong: the five minutes that she spent as Midnight Sparkle. The five minutes she spent with magic.

Now, tortured by fear, anxiety, and never-ending nightmares, Twilight knows the only way to win Sunset's love is to make herself stronger—even if that means resurrecting the demon inside of her.

Celestia owes Twilight and her friends so much, that much can't be denied. From reuniting her with her sister, to saving Equestria time and time again, Celestia has more than once offered to reward them for everything they've done. Yet every time they have turned her down, intent on achieving their dreams on their own, which Celestia respected.

Until one day, when Fluttershy comes to her and asks for an... odd request.

Sunset Shimmer had an urge to see Twilight Sparkle of Ponyville again after so long with her friends in the other world. One day, she mustered up the courage to step through the portal and say hello.

Much to her surprise, however, Twilight Sparkle was far... smaller than she expected.

After a thousand years of exile, Princess Luna settles in for what she hopes will be the first of many peaceful nights after an eon of mental “self” torture. Though pleasant dreams evade her, it is not her own screams of terror that torment her.

This is a story that is strongly influenced by my headcanon about Luna’s dream-walking ability as well as other bits of my headcanon. Not the least of which being my headcanon as to why Luna’s appearance changes from season one to season two. Yes I realize it was an animation decision, but I’m still allowed to have headcanon on the subject.
