When the Shadowcolts show up, the Mane Six, the Dazzlings, Twilight Sparkle, and Human Twilight (that makes 11) need to defeat them using sports magic. Also, background characters make appearances.

Sunset Shimmer was vital to the defeat of the Dazzlings at the Battle of the Bands. Now a heroine instead of a villain, she accepts the mantle of leadership while struggling against her own past. Sunset Shimmer will extend a hand in friendship, which starts an adventure that will create far-reaching consequences for her friends on both sides of the mirror. This story begins two or three days after the conclusion of Equestria Girls 2: Rainbow Rocks.

Shortly after the Dazzlings witnessed the Rainbooms' argument with Sunset Shimmer, they concocted a plan that would surely put Canterlot High at huge risk and inched them closer to achieving their goal: making Sunset one of them.

We were lost in the woods. It was cold, and dark, and we had little hope of getting home. That's when we saw a shooting star. We didn't know what else to do, so we wished.

After their defeat, Aria is pushing Sonata over and Adagio has finally enough of it.
She decides to give Aria a proper punishment.

Ever since the Dazzling's defeat Sonata still has been going on and on about the fruit punch. Sonata then shows Aria how to make REAL fruit punch.
