A game is being played. A dreadful, chaotic foe decided to leave a lasting impression. Now, anything with the power or ability to bridge dimensions is dropping a champion in or around Equestria. In the incomprehensible mess of rules enforced, the first is the clearest - the champion had to once be human.

Of course, even the best laid plans fail. When you rip open pathways between dimensions, stuff you didn't want is going to fall through.

The day started of as a normal day for the Williams family that is until a group of Gods decided to send them to Equestria to be apart of some games. They are separated from each other and they must face many hardships if they want to find each other again.

You don't have to have read any of the other chessverse stories for this to make sense but it wouldn't hurt.

I've often found that its the little choices we make in life that have the biggest impact. Should I chance this week old sandwich or not? Is crossing the street now a good idea? If someone asks if you'd like to visit Equestria do you immediately say yes? Well in order, here's the consequences of yes... Stomach ache from hell, nearly being flattened by a semi and some newly brown pants, and waking up in a field in a body not your own and the strangest feeling of being dead.

This story is set within the wonderful setting of the Chess Game of the God's, and isn't to be seen in any way as cannon.

I was a fairly normal guy... I thought I was happy too... until I was whisked away to take part in some kind of godly competition in a world that I was just introduced to... now I'm wandering the land of Equestria and beyond, and let me tell you, I prefer the show. I thought it would be interesting to see what would happen to a person who came to Equestria and was turned into something not even remotely handsome or attractive, even in an animal sense. In other words, a sload.

They told me i could be anything......... well, I really didn't have a choice in this situation. Normally when a human goes to Equestria, they say human or become a pony, or a least that's what usually what happens in fanfics; that's not my case. of all things I could have become, I became a Demon from the pits of Tartarus.

I'm a brony, big surprise there but I'm proud of it. When given the chance to go to Equestria I wrote it off as the ramblings of a mad man. Boy was I sure wrong, now I'm stuck in the middle of something way over my head in a body three sizes to big trying desperately to reunite a filly with her mother.

Thus begins my days in Equestria, my days as Thud, the mountain troll.
