Equestria is full of magic. It practically runs the world. Ponies use it to control the weather, light their homes, build cloud cities, and even raise the sun. But what would happen if one day magic ceased to exist? What would happen to society as we know it? What would happen if that were to occur today?

Rainbow Dash and Spike are arguing over a debate on who is the better flier in the wonderbolts between Blaze and Lightning Streak. It was a useless debate, but the flares between the two only made the necklace for loyalty spark more and more. Eventually it shot a beam through the safe, past the palace walls, and headed straight to Ponyville. The beam ensnared both Rainbow Dash and Spike just at the peak of the debate. Now Rainbow is Spike and Spike is Rainbow Dash.

Set in Dashverse. Applejack is taking Twilight Sparkle, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie out to Appleloosa to help with the Apple Family Reunion and so she can compete in the Appleloosa Rodeo! Amid the celebrations of the Reunion, the rodeo and the one year anniversary of the peace agreement with the buffalo, Applejack finds that her favorite cousin, Braeburn, has been involved in making changes--including bucking tradition instead of apples.

How she attempts to deal with this, and her friendly-rivalry with Rainbow Dash, will push Applejack to her limits.

Rainbow Dash likes it a lot more than she thought she would.

Nights have gotten worse.

It's been three straight weeks of sleeping pills and antidepressants, neither of which have proven effective at keeping her from crying in her sleep. Every morning sees her waking up with her face and pillow soaked with tears, her eyes bloodshot, and her mental status just a little worse off than the day before.

Putting it mildly, Vinyl is a wreck.

But maybe, with the help of another friend, she might just learn to get past the pain.

Vinyl has had feelings for a friend for a while now, and said feelings have started interfering with her sleep.

When she finally confesses her feelings, will she be able to face whatever the consequences may be – even if her heart must be broken as a result?

Written for a Creative Writing class, so if the pacing's off, that's why. I do not intend to fix or rewrite any part of this, but corrections will still be gladly accepted.

Cadance became an Alicorn after defeating a mighty foe with Love. Twilight became an Alicorn after completing a spell with Friendship. Rainbow Dash is the first pony to create a Rainboom.

What if, instead of just a cutie mark, Rainbow Dash truly was recognized that day across Equestria...or at least by one of it's rulers...for making the impossible happen? How would this affect her life?

To quote Rainbow Dash: “Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, hang on a second! I can’t be a princess!”

Every year, Hearts and Hooves day comes to Ponyville. And every year, Derpy laments, alone and unsatisfied. It doesn't stop her from thinking about the mare of her dreams. As far as she's concerned, it will only stay a dream.
