This is the story of the real Princess of the Night. Princess Luna, who's just been released from her long term confinement- trapped within her glorious moon, recalls past, uncovering long lost secrets forgotten by everypony but her. How will she respond when she learns that her sister hasn't been entirely truthful about her (Luna's) untimely departure?

Featured August 5-7, 2013.

After releasing Snowdrop's first snowflake into the first winter's snow, Luna reminisces about the last time she saw Snowdrop before becoming Nightmare Moon. After going to bed and commencing her dreamwalking for the night, she runs into said friend in her own dreams.

This is a sequel to SillyFillyStudios fan episode Snowdrop. It is advisable that you watch before reading the story.

Luna has been plagued by nightmares since she was very young, her parents and sister are concerned when no known spell shows any sign of helping the poor filly. Suddenly however, her nightmares seem to vanish and she seems a lot more cheerful. She tells them that her new friend is keeping the nightmares at bay and teaching her new things, but they simply believe that it’s a simple imaginary friend.

But he is very much real in her dreams.

Whenever Luna falls asleep, she wakes up in her dream world where her friend, Crescent, teaches her the ancient ability of protecting the dreams of children as well as a race that has nearly been forgotten.

For his time in this world is coming to an end and Luna, his ‘Little Moon’, is to become the new guardian of dreams.

A millennia ago, two sisters clashed. One for her rule, and one for freedom. One emerged victorious, and one was banished. A thousand years later, the younger sister is due to return, and with her return comes the threat of revolution.
Luna fights for the freedom that she believes in, and will do whatever it takes to bring it about. But can she bring down her own sister, and put an end to the Equestrian Union?

After Link played the wrong notes on his Ocarina when he wanted to teleport himself to the water temple, he is brought to Equestria instead. Now Celestia is stuck with a bipedal creature who can raise the sun and moon and change the weather by playing in his ocarina and has the worst pet ever: Navi.

On a midnight train, one mare travels to Canterlot. She goes to see Princess Luna, presiding in her Night Court. With her, she carries determination and a book. The book has been passed from parent to foal, from generation to generation for a time longer than most ponies can even imagine.

She travels to Canterlot to give the book to Luna.

And neither pony will be the same after.

Luna wants her own colony, one that will thrive when Equestria is ravaged by poverty and sadness after Discord runs rampant. When Celestia denies her request, Luna takes matters into her own hooves.

Luna's Children of the Night, six colts and six fillies, are forced into a new world- the forgotten mountains. Faced with a new, unexplored and less than friendly world, they have to survive on their own and build a home for themselves, but they're only foals.

Ponies are unique amongst the sentient races in that their souls are equally comprised of light and dark. All the other races have a gravitation towards one or the other, but only the three pony races hold the two in complete balance. It was for this reason that Celestia and Luna came to be in the first place, as the Fates decreed that keeping an entire race on such a narrow path was too great a task for one entity.

Ever since her return from her banishment, Princess Luna has felt something wrong with her subjects. The ponies of Equestria are lively and joyous, their eyes bright and happy as they bask in the light, but one thousand years of light has disturbed the balance of their souls. Now, Luna must take drastic measures to restore it before it destroys her beloved subjects.

Celestia has become emotionally withdrawn and disconnected from her little ponies. The imprisonment of Luna compounded with the constant loss of any who got close to her, she has forgotten how to connect with another pony. Until a small, injured filly who is equally distant after the loss of her parents stumbles into Celestia's life. Now, both ponies will help the other heal and rediscover once more what it truly means to be a pony.

A 'Mommylestia' story, the concept of which has been in my head for some months. I will be sticking rather close to canon for events, the major differences are that Twilight's parents are dead, and Shining Armor is a few years older and already dating Cadance at the time of this incident. I plan to keep mostly everything else the same.
