chapter 2
THis is not Hyrule.
“Link! Stop playing that Ocarina and found us something to eat!” Yelled the white fairy as Link keep blowing into his magical instrument. He was testing each tune he learned and strangely all the teleportation tune were not working anymore. It was a real shame because it was his favorite one but at least he could still use a few other ones.
“Are you listening to me Link!”
The Hylian sighed before he nodded to his little companion, sometime he was regretting haveing wished a fairy when he was still living in the kokiri forest but at least she was kinda resourceful...sometimes.
As he walk into the forest for some fruit or a wild animal he could hunt, he realised that the forest seem a little...off, if he remember correctly the only forest in Hyrule was the Lost woods, and this one was surely not the magical forest where he has been lost more than a week. Just thinking about it made him want to shoot an arrow at the owl who told him to follow the music, what he thought nothing about was the fact Link was not an animal like him so he has no overpowered hearing to find Saria on the complete opposite way of the forest playing her ocarina.
“Link watch out!” Yelled Navi, interrupting Link and his wish of vengeance. “There is. A deer over there! You should track it.”
Link nodded, it has been a long time since he ate something else than fish that he could catch in the Zora lake or some pound of water in some cavern and he was salivating at the thought of taking a bite of fresh meat. Link hid himself behind a tree, trying to do all possible to stay quiet and make no sound, He readied his bow and made sure to aim carefully, he slowed his respiration but at the second he was going to shoot the deadly arrow, Navi decided to help Link by going flying around the head of the deer and unfortunately for Link, a yellow fairy flying around you is nothing subtle and the deer run away, leaving a hungry hylian and a confused fairy behind him.
“Let’s both of us forget that and let’s find out where the nearest INN is…”

Hyrule Field
Far away from all this, a mare named Epona was quietly eating some grass in the Hyrule field, waiting for her owner to call her. Unfortunately for her since he could travel a lot of distance with his Ocarina he did not need her as often as before. The last thing they have done together was a poe hunt in the Hyrule field and two weeks have already passed and she feel betrayed by this. The mare sighed before she trotted to the nearest water source where she looked at her reflection. Admiring her face which she took care of it everyday and her light brown mane which was by far the most beautiful mane on the Lon Lon Ranch.
“ So why he is not paying attention to me….?” The mare asked herself , even if she know the answer she would not accept it she would not accept that a silly thing like a different species could keep her from the dream of being with Link. She has heard of Zora married to Goron and Hylian being close with Gerudo so maybe all hope was not lost.
“Link…..”
Just thinkin about him made her heart beat faster, but for now she didn't have the pleasure to think much about him, she did not realise at first but while she admired herself on the surface of the lake, the sun set and the moon was rising up in the sky.
Panicking, Epora ran the fastest she can in direction of the Ranch but unfortunately when she arrived the two wooden doors were closed, blocking her way to safety. She kicked the door with her back hooves, hoping they will break or that Malon inside will hear her but no one came and the two doors still stayed closed.
Epona could hear behind her the steps of the skeleton walking slowly toward her, the mare started to whinny loudly, giving kick to each Skeleton who come near her but she soon became exhausted and the skeleton profited from this moment by jump on her and putting an end to her life.
The last thing Epona saw was a bright white flash before everything turned black.

“Maybe something is stuck inside the Ocarina! Have you checked?” Asked Navi while Link was trying for the third time to play Epona’s song. Usually it worked all the time but it seems like the Ocarina has lost more than half of is power since he was here. Link did as Navi told him and he blow into each hole of the instrument to make sure that nothing was stuck inside of it, when he was done he tried one more time. His finger moving swiftly on the instrument as he played the magical song. after he finished, he waited to hear the usual clip clop that epona made when she got close but the forest stayed silent. Desperation engulfed him as he realized that maybe he would never see his horse again but at the last second he heard the usual sound of her hoof step behind him, maybe a little more fast than usual, but she was there.
“There you are! You taken your time. what were you doing? nothing as usual?” Asked Navi to Epona. At the desperation of Link, each time he called Epona, Navi needed to say something mean to the jument, maybe because she nearly ate her when Navi sleep in a haystack .
“So where are we heading for Link?”
“You can talk?” Yelled the the white fairy while Link stay there mouth agape wondering what he have done to the three goddess for being stuck with the most annoying fairy and now a talking horse.
