Trying to be friends with the Elements of Harmony while being the Spirit of Chaos can be rather...conflicting, to say the least.

After having another outburst with his chaotic magic, Discord decides to rid himself completely of it. Doing so, however, has some unexpected consequences that may affect all of Equestria. How will the Mane Six cope with a softer, now harmony-obsessed version of Discord while trying to fight a new threat that's created as a result? Can Discord break his old habits?

Twilight's convinced Discord hasn't really reformed, and has found a weapon to replace the Elements -- a reforming spell Discord missed eating. But panicking an entity like Discord is probably never a good idea. And Twilight's about to learn that the good intentions that pave the road to hell don't make the destination a nicer place to live...

(Note: gets a Dark tag but this is not super dark; after all if Discord destroyed the universe he'd find he had nothing to play with later, and both "Hit Me" and "The King Who Would Be Man" happen after this story.)

A few days after the Grand Galloping Gala, Discord takes Fluttershy up on her idea and invites her, Tree Hugger, and the Smooze to dinner. Where should they go? Well why not the Smoozgasbord? The perfect restaurant to experience the ooze's finest in fine dining. The Smoozgasbord: where if you smooze, you lose. (The manager would like to take this moment to apologize. He admits that their puns are a tad sloppy, but insures that they will coagulate better ones as soon as their dribble congeals.)

On a Shoe Day, farriers set all their other business aside and devote the whole day to fitting ponies with shoes for the upcoming season.

Big Mac is certainly up to the task this Sunday. However, something about meeting pretty much everyone he`s on amiable terms with in one day proves to be... interesting.

How would a being like Discord want to be remembered after he's gone? Well, if you're curious, he did actually write a will. To the surprise of nobody, its contents are bizarre and mildly disturbing.

Fluttershy hears it. She hears it all the time.

Ponies always talk about Discord--they whisper about him, even when she and her friend are around them. Ugly, they say. They find him ugly! They think he's a beast!

It makes Fluttershy's heart ache. She's afraid their words are hurting Discord--that he may think he's ugly too, because of what they say.

So when she holds an event for pets in need of adoption, and the gossip starts again, can Fluttershy stand up for him?

And what in the world does Discord mean by "You'll figure it out"?!?

Today is an extra-special day for Discord. One he's been looking forward to all year. Or rather all day, since he had just learned about it previously from Fluttershy. A day that's all about him, all about his needs, his greatness, and how truly awesome he is. A day to feed his ego like the gluttonous pig it is.

Why, it's Discord's birthday of course!
