When most ponies think about the Canterlot Wedding, they think of a few main things. The imposter bait and switch, the invasion that followed and how, against all odds, the love between the Bride and Groom was able to push back the invaders that stormed through the city.

Ironically, most of those things just so happened to be included with the event package Princess Cadance picked. And the queen herself? Well, when she says that she planned this, she meant it in more ways than one.

A funny one shot that came into my head after seeing this piece by Icey_Starr.

Also, it's been ten years since Canterlot wedding? Man time flies by fast.

It isn't easy being the only changeling in Canterlot High — fitting in is difficult, starvation is a real issue, and the fear of getting caught is always present. To make matters worse, Bug Bee has more to worry about than just himself.

I had a pretty good life. They called me Spit Shine, I worked in the palace, cleaning this, doing that. Hell, I even got to talk to the Princess, and learned all sorts of interesting stuff. It was stimulating, prestigious, and hey, call me weird, but I liked the work.

Shame I was also secretly a changeling infiltrator with a name too annoying to pronounce in polite society trying to observe and potentially subvert your nation state.

I mean, these things happen.

Of course, you'd be surprised what you can learn about a pony when you have a different perspective.

On a still winter night Fluttershy finds herself delving into the Everfree Forest in search of the source of what's caused distress to her animal friends, and when she does she finds a most unsettling creature. It reminds her of a Changeling, but it's something else entirely, and something quite unfounded in her time.

Clearly the obvious course of action is to adopt it.

I appreciate the story being shared around, commented on, liked, enjoyed, all that jazz. :ajsmug:

This story is a sequel to Royal-Tea for Two

One day while taking the long train ride home from Canterlot, you began to wonder what it would be like to use magic. According to your dear friend Twilight Sparkle, this should be physically impossible. From your perspective, pretty much everything in Equestria is impossible. Sounds like it's time for Equestria's resident human to get cracking.

One day you were living an ordinary, dreary life. The next, you were in a magical world of friendship and ponies. Your new life took a lot of getting used to, but you eventually found happiness in your new friends, particularly the ruler of Equestria herself, Princess Celestia. Then one day, you found yourself somehow saving the world, and Celestia wanted to thank you by offering you one request. Feeling content with your life, you decide to make the best use of the request that you can think of by helping Celestia with whatever seems to be bothering her. But getting Celestia to open up to you about her troubles may be more difficult than you first imagined. Tea for two it is, then.

Celestia’s School for Gifted Unicorns attracts the best and the brightest students, and correspondingly only hires the best and brightest faculty. Sometimes, the faculty are a little too smart for their own good.
This is a little slice of the multiverse, as perceived by Professor Rosen Bridge. This story is probably best categorized as science fiction.

Fair warning: I realize that there are one or two subtle hints at jokes in here and humorous wording, but despite my flimsy attempts at whimsy, this story deserves its dark tag, especially if you’re vulnerable to existential horror (is that a real thing?).
The T rating is mostly for the existential implications, which are related to suicide. There is no explicit gore except in the metalogue.
I’m serious I went for maximum edge it just doesn’t hit hard until the end m’kay?

Cover art credit is by this loser. They kind of suck so leave them some hatemail.

All chapters are mostly written aside from minor things that will be filled in by readers who enjoy getting homework from their fanfiction, and will be published every 3 days for 4 chapters.

Magic.

For a long time, true magic was the domain of the unicorn nobility, or those few foals that were talented enough to be taken in as apprentices by accomplished wizards. Slowly, as civilization advanced and the masses were able to afford schooling for everyone, access to learning magic became ubiquitous.

However, just like in the old days, the mages still were a minority amongst unicorns - far from everyone was interested in studying for years or decades to become one, after all. Another holdover from the old days were the mage tournaments - a bit less fierce than the ones in the days of yore, but still enthusiastically participated in by proud unicorns wanting to show off their skills.

However, one day, the ancient traditions are shattered when a pegasus enters a mage tournament. And not only is he capable of holding his own, much to everyone's surprise, he even becomes the champion...

Princess Luna knows her sister is hiding something. Whatever she may say, 'Daybreaker' did not seem to be some construct of Starlight Glimmer's psyche. It had been far too strong for that.

But Luna will learn that sometimes it is better to leave well enough alone. The truth is not always kind.

My entry for the Dear Love: A Beautiful Discord contest, in which this won second place. The Seattle's Angels Review can be found here.

Thanks to Snu AKA Snowybee, Miller Minus and MewKat for lending their ears, and their pre-reading skills (for Chapters 1-3). I definitely would not have finished this in time without them.

If I had to sum this story up: what if you could interview the devil, and he told you that there were Bigger Fish to Fry?

- Cynewulf, on reviewing this for Seattle's Angels.
