Following the first book, will Avatar Twilight be able to find an earth bending master, as well as develop the skills to add a third element to her repertoire? Will her new skills allow her to keep one step ahead of her newest, and possibly greatest, enemy, the young Sweetie Belle?

Twilight is struggling with what she's learned of the past, and what Pinkie Pie remembers but she doesn't, Princess Luna then arrives with a journal eons old once held by Bonbon's ancient ancestor, that has had MANY additions made to it over the centuries. What is contains within it is seven stories of seven ponies who witnessed the world change for better and worse, and all found the courage to face tomorrow. And Twilight and Pinkie discover shocking and amazing connections among ponies they know they'd never even dreamed of!

Twilight is old and weak. She has lived a good, long life, and as the last of the Elements of Harmony, she accepts her death. She goes to Canterlot now, to say goodbye to the princesses. But they have one last gift to give the student. The chance to meet their creators and see something truly wonderful...

The Mare in the Moon has returned, and the dark power that created Nightmare Moon is awakening again with the aid of a magical Moonstone. The two princesses and the Mane Six must use the Elements of Harmony to banish the darkness once and for all. Meanwhile, on Prehistoric Earth an alien artifact identical to the Moonstone falls into Predacon hands. What does this mean? And what will happen when a rift in space is opened between the two stones, pulling the Transformers into the strange, new world of Equestria?

(Note: It gets dark in places, but there is no explicit violence or gore.)

Discord is beaten, but it's the scars you can't see that take the longest to heal. Let us continue. Every one of the mane six plus one has seems to have worked their way through their problems . . . but there are sure a lot of loose ends to tie-up, and one of these loose threads when pulled just might start unraveling everything!
