Assigned a book report for school, Dinky takes out a library book only to discover that she is the first pony ever to have checked it out- -but not realizing that she will be the last.

It moves quietly through the snow, stalking Marble whenever she's alone. Her family doesn't believe her, but she knows a giant maw roams the snow-covered forests of the Rock Farm Woods.

And now, it's hungry. And Marble is the only one watching the farm...

A strange hole opens up outside of Ponyville.

Nopony is sure where it came from.

Or where it goes.

Fluttershy buys a painting from a new stall in Ponyville markets. It's a quaint picture of a rural cottage surrounded by grasslands and farm animals. It fills her with a curious feeling of longing that she hasn't felt before. Why should she? Her life is already like it.
But new animals start appearing around her home, and her own animals begin disappearing. Why and how she doesn't know, but she has to save them. She has to save all of them.

For as long as she can remember, Applejack has been deathly afraid of deep water.

Rarity wants to know why.

Applejack is cleaning her attic and finds an ugly mask. She offers it to Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie, because they enjoy pranking ponies. Rainbow is first to arrive to check it out, and finds out there seems to be more to the mask than Applejack knew.
She has to have it, and she can't wait to try it out.

Twilight had no idea of where the door had come from. It was there, and that was a fact. When it was there, at least, which wasn't always the case. But she would find out what was behind it sooner or later. It was just a matter of time. The door was always there, after all.
