A thousand years ago in Equestria, Luna's frustration and desperation has been building for years and years as her social and political isolation grows, but just before Luna's jealousy and resentment can turn into murderous hatred against her sister, a new event triggars Luna's mental collapse and pushes her over the edge. When Luna by circumstance finds herself alone in Celestia's room she reads her sister's diary out of curiosity and discovers all of the disparaging criticism that Celestia has leveled at her over the years about how much of a nuisance Luna has been to her, but has been too polite to say directly to Luna's face.

Luna and Celestia had always supported and stuck with each other all their lives. Even when the common-ponies critisism and shunning of her was at its worst, the knowledge that her sister loved her kept Luna going. The realization that nopony, not even her own sister valued her or thought she was fit for the throne completely shattered whatever remained of her fragile psyche.

And so Luna just gave up...

She gave in...

If no one wanted her there...

Then she wouldn't stay there...

She would leave.

There had never been six greater ponies. There had never been six greater friends. Their lives took them many places, but not always together. They came together in the end though. Not even death could keep them apart for long.

Twilight Sparkle and her friends have conquered every challenge sent their way. They've won battles, forged bonds and expanded the lessons of friendship to far beyond Equestria's borders. But when the march of time brings forth some very troubling realizations, Twilight seeks advice from perhaps the only pony in the whole world who could help her.

My submission to the The My Little Pony Renaissance Contest. Originally part of a larger story, I felt that with a little tweeking, I could make a pretty good one-shot. At least, I hope it's a good one-shot.

Oblivion Shadow is a master Witcher of the Wolf School. A contract on a Leshens head brings him to the edge of the Northern Realms to answer a call for help. The fight starts off as normal. A second Leshen attack leaves him fighting on two fronts. The Witcher is able to escape, or so he thought when a sharp pain in his back leaves him waking up in Equestria. He is taken in by the Apple family, who treat him as one of their own. He is welcomed by the ponies of this world and he must learn how to accept that or risk upsetting a balance that he did not realize he was a part of. The question he has to ask himself is how does he get back to his world? Or does he even want to go back to a world that is fraught with war and drowning in hate and rage? His senses tell him that monsters from his world are in this new one but he can't seem to track them down. Could his world be bleeding into this one, and how bad will the damage be? He follows the Mane 6 and learns through them what it means to be a friend and a brother.

Celestia has been dating Daydream for over a year now. Although their relationship was kept a secret for the majority of the time, they still managed to sneak past guards after castle hours or conveniently see each other at the local donut shop. But now that Celestia and her sister retired, they decided it would be best to focus on their relationship, now that Celestia didn't have to worry about diplomatic meetings or signing documents. Daydream, ecstatic at the possibility of her marefriend spending more time with her, decides to take a few weeks off of work to spend some time together. Celestia, realizing this would be the perfect opportunity to surprise her with a romantic getaway, decides to take Daydream to the fabulous Manehattan. Even better, its close too her parents! Unfortunately, the news of Celestia's retirement hasn't exactly gotten to all of Equestria. There's a problem with the room she booked, and Daydreams parents aren't exactly aware of their relationship. ...Maybe they should have stayed home.

The Draconequus isn't a creature found in Equestria, obviously. It's a hybrid of many animals, yet its origins remain a mystery for this rare beast. However, what is certain is it hails from a land outside, one where equines rarely go to. A land of bipedal creatures and more, filled with strange magic and an atmosphere unfitting a mere pony... former home to a familiar lord of chaos.

Unfortunately, his idyllic life in Equestria ends once a creature from this land comes to Ponyville - a child saying she's looking for him. Thus he's forced to return "home," a land that no longer welcomes him in order to face his so-called destiny. Along with him comes Fluttershy, Twilight and the rest of the mane six, and a few others. Together begins a new journey, and whether it's one for better or for worse - well, there's only one way to find out.

For well over a thousand years, now, they had been cast out, forced into a depressing life of solitude among only one another... which, given everything, did not make circumstances any more bearable, for them, most times.

No. No, they weren't cast out. Banished! They were imprisoned! Sealed away by that accursed Wizard and his lackies of five doing his bidding, as always! Their symphony had been perfect, a melody so harmonic and soothing it made only sense to keep listening. Their triumphant crescendo was upon Equestria, the final act in their grand serenade.

But that finale never came. Their final act... it was not to be. Or, so they thought.

Mortals were a curious bunch, in the end. Useless, petty and pathetic as one may call them, but they got a lot done in what little time they had for themselves. A new world, as it were, far different from the one the three of them had last seen, before the light of day was taken away from them in exchange for a dark prison so deep beneath the waves.

But one thing they all knew, to varying degrees: mortals were curious. And curiosity, be it as it were, would be the only thing they needed for their curtain call. The setting of the stage for a new, second act.

The Abyss calls.

This Story takes place in the Alternate Universe of Equestria at War. EaW uses a custom world map including 3 separate continents, and a 'modern' world setting equal to World War 2 (in most places). Consider trying out the mod for Hearts of Iron IV yourself, or check out the Fimfiction group and check out more stories about it.

For the purpose of this story, it's noteworthy that the Sirens were NOT banished to the EQG universe when Starswirl banished them, but were instead sealed away deep under the ocean.

It's been many years since Twilight took the throne as Equestria's sole ruler. Running a country is hard, especially now, but she has little choice in the matter. The trip to the wasteland was required though, her friend went not too long ago in order to investigate.

Hopefully she'll reunite with them so they can go back to taking care of Equestria, after all, who else will?

Spike has been a friendship ambassador to a faraway land for the last 5 years. He hasn't seen his Equestrian friends for that long either. The new world was not at all what he expected. The memories still haunt him as he embarks on a cruise liner bound for Equestria. What changed about him? Why is it so hard to face the ponies he once called friends? Perhaps the long ride would give him some clarity about what he really remembers, and who he remembers it by.

Story set long after the end of the show (but not the final episode). Just wanted to write a story based off A Pleasant Cruise , but I felt like it could use some more. Emotional sappy stuff is the main focus, so I hope you enjoy your heartstrings being played. Make sure you check out the other story to support the original work! Very good read :)
