*A 3 A.M. Rarity Short*

On a calm and snowy night, just a few days before Hearth's Warming, Spike decides to check up on Twilight to see if she's doing okay.

Twilight has been through much hardship recently, but thankfully, over the past year she's gotten much better since. However, with fears still lingering in Spike's mind, he wants to be absolutely certain that Twilight's improved well-being stays that way.

And he'll do it by doing what he does best at. By being right by her side. There for her. Always.

Spike has been the loyal protector of Twilight, through pen and blade, but when she sends him on a mission too dangerous even for him, he returns missing an arm. Twilight must come to realize what she truly feels for her dragon.

After leaving on a second pilgrimage to find himself, Spike returns to Ponyville, physically larger and sporting an impressive array of skills and powers.

His plans for a calm life in Ponyville, however, takes a different path as he soon finds himself the desire of several ponies interests, friends old and new included.

Change breeds benefits, as the saying goes. Spike has yet to hear it ring true.

One day whilst Twilight is out on a diplomatic mission. Spike finds a mysterious box in her room that he'd never seen before, and his curiosity gets the better of him.

Author's note: This is my... Basically third story I've written for MLP but the first I've written in years (and the first that wasn't when I was a teenager). Give fair feedback and speak your mind as to how I might improve in the future!

Five years have passed since Spike fulfilled his dream, five years since he got the girl, five years since happiness seemed assured to him in his life. He now lives with a standing relationship with the best dressmaker in Equestria, but it hasn't been all sunshine and smiles for him like he expected it to be. Ever since his departure from Ponyville, his dreams have been plagued by thoughts of what he left behind, what could have been. They are dreams that allow his heart to speak, and they sing out in a beautiful chorus splashed with lavender.

His past has been set, but his future has not. Will he live with what he's got, or will he be the same enthusiastic romancer he once was to try and achieve something better with a faded flame?

Spike now harnesses the bloodstone scepter making him the ruler of all dragon kind. Of course he hands it off as part of an important lesson on friendship, right? Naw. He immediately goes mad with power.

Spike and Pinkie have been spending more time together, it doesn't help the party pony who been trying to stop being on one way street. Since she loves him and knows he wouldn't return her feelings, That changes when he get bought to the rock farm to meet her sisters.

Until she comes up with the best idea, The Choosing Rock will be working for the long weekend and their parent are off in Canterlot for the Rock Awards to see what with piece of stone and rocks will win. Pinkie brings Spike to help, seeing him hitting off with her sisters well, Pinkie decides to have them all dating him in a nice harem.

Spike is in for a long weekend.

In all of her years, Twilight Sparkle always could tell about herself, with utmost confidence, that she had attained the precious thing called knowledge. It was the single, little truth often spoken by others thus she believed that she could solve any problem by herself if significant amount of time was given... but some problems can't be solved by us alone, especially not those of heart, no matter how much time is given.

Even today there are questions she can't answer because the road is uncertain. Without scientific data to proceed forward, how would she solve them? Read to find out how she journeys towards unknown while being guided by by the only one who can give her the answers...

Luna's moon does nothing to aid Twilight in her sleep, especially when she is too preoccupied with Spike. Journey into the mind of the elemental bearer of magic as we try to decipher her thoughts about her number one assistant. Will a heart break or grow? Will she get sleep?
