The headmistress of the Friendship School, Starlight Glimmer, is worried. Where did Cozy Glow come from? Who or what made her to be the force of evil that she was?

In her quest for answers, Starlight uses reflection magic to interrogate a shade of Cozy, a reflection, but finds that even as a mere memory, Cozy wields more power over Starlight than she had anticipated.

Once upon a time, the School of Friendship was praised and accredited, after its lessons drove a little filly mad. Imprisoned in Tartarus with only an ancient monstrous centaur to keep her company, Cozy Glow was in the perfect place for Grogar to whisk away so that he could force her to do his bidding.

Twilight Sparkle's friends, bastions of Equestria's highest virtues, left Cozy Glow forgotten and alone, locked in that rusty cage deep underground. Nopony ever attempted to visit her, check up on her, care for her, reform her, or try to find out what was wrong with her.

This is not that story.

Having worked as a guidance counselor for several long years, Trixie decides to have a chat with Starlight about how much things have changed, and how she'll never become the world famous magician she wanted to be.

Starlight and Trixie have just gotten back from a very brief roadtrip to Saddle Arabia that didn't pan out. The trip may have been a bust, but their friendship still stands.

However, the two unicorns soon find themselves confronting an unexpected visitor, Starlight's father, Firelight. He's come to Ponyville to see his daughter, largely because she hasn't visited him in months.

For Trixie, this is the first time the magician has ever encountered any family of Starlight's. But Starlight worries that her father might unintentionally embarrass her in front of her friend. Are her fears justified?

And what will Trixie think of her best friend's father's... unusual behavior?

This story is a sequel to Closing Time

Since Trixie presented Starlight with a necklace and the two went out, they became closer and closer as each day passed, soon venturing into a happy, healthy relationship. Now, with tickets to the Grand Galloping Gala, Starlight is excited to take her marefriend along and have a romantic night together.

However, midway through the Gala, a rumor spreads that Trixie has went up to Prince Blueblood's bedroom and is having an affair with him.

I do however at times get some ideas that fit the canon episodes. Rarely so ((like my "Precious Soul of Mine" fanfic)) but it happens.
