Twilight finally manages to solve the problems with Star Swirl the Bearded’s time travel spell and decides that one of her first visits should be to see that old hero of hers.

Unfortunately, he’s not really what she was expecting.

Life is pretty good for Twilight. Equestria is at peace and her relationship with Celestia makes every day a little brighter. Yet when she begins having strange, vivid dreams about a future where Celestia has been replaced by a mysterious Queen, Twilight can't help but wonder what those dreams mean for her own actual future.

But its owner the long suffering 'Gravel Packs' soon finds that Trixie who is still stinging from her previous humiliation in Ponyville is more than he can cope with and calls in an expert in the form of Maud Pie to assist him in helping Trixie settle in.

Some rocks are harder than others, can Maud help Trixie before the whole farm is ruined?

Twilight Sparkle is practicing her flying when she crash-lands in front of The Great and Powerful Trixie. Trixie tells Twilight she wants to become her royal student, to be "even more magnificent", and Twilight accepts, since she could learn from having a student. But things end up taking a turn for the worse - being a teacher is a lot harder than Twilight expected, and being a student is a lot harder than Trixie expected.

Princess Twilight's days are long and tedious, but her lessons with Trixie are the highlight of her day. That is, until Trixie decides to stop paying attention.

(No, this isn't a sequel to The Great and Powerful Student, but it is built around a similar premise - just a very different story.)
