The forest was his new home.

From what he saw, he didn't belong in the town outside of his forest, but he also knew he didn't belong inside of it. His new hole filled legs and black body seemed to make sure he didn't fit in anywhere.

He had planned on trying to figure out what had happened to him without drawing attention, but when he saves three fillies from danger, he knew that his time to think about it was almost up.

The ponies would want answers.

He had none.

Most Equestrians have a nice life. They wake up each morning to a beautiful sunrise, they go to a job that perfectly fits their interests, and they retire each night to a peaceful sleep. Do any of them ever wonder why their lives are so nice?
As far as Soot Streak is concerned, most ponies are better of not knowing.
After a colorful incident from his past, Soot was conscripted into Princess Luna's personal supernatural hit squad. Now, he serves Equestria from behind a veil, keeping ponies safe from all the troubles they never think about. For Soot, life is simply a question of what will kill him first; the monsters he fights without, his own comrades, or the monsters he fights within.

Luna's been feeling down ever since her return. Nightmare Night was great, but it did little to help her mood. Talking a walk through nighttime Canterlot, she meets a pony who lives in a broken cart in the lower district. What will she make of this, and what will happen now?

A lone changeling finds a new place to belong.

After Twilight and company's (sort of) success with Discord, Celestia and Luna decide that it's time to reform another villain. But then something completely unexpected happens and Twilight now has a young amnesiac Sombra living in her castle.

Today I did not wake up in a place I recognize. Not that I can remember how I got here. Where even is here? A castle of crystals in a magical world of pastel-colored talking horses. It's like a dream, only I'm also a wearied, mutant bug monster.

What in the world is a changeling? Oh, and what is that about a war we're apparently responsible for? This looks like it's shaping up to be a hell of a new day, at least, if I don't get squashed like a bug before it can even start.

So... I met Discord. Cool guy, if I do say so myself. We were actually having a nice chat, but something made his powers go haywire and drag him back to Equestria, with me along for the ride. Oh yeah, I also became my OC Lightning Blaze, a vampony filly with the power to control Fire, Lightning and Darkness. So now I have to cope with conflicting memories, powers that I know next to nothing on how to control and how strong they are, cybernetic limbs, ponies treating me like a kid (which I guess I am now), and overall, trying to not get put into an orphanage because I am an orphan now. Fan-flaming-tastic.

Oh, and apparently, Diamond Tiara has a crush on me. Help.

For those of you who followed the pre-rewrite, this is a completely new plot with only a few details from the old one. Hope it's better than that cringey thing.

Cover art doesn't show it, but Blaze's front hooves are actually cybernetic enhancements due to reasons that will be explained on the story.

An old enemy wakes from its slumber, bringing chaos to the world. Forgotten legends of the past are remembered, bringing on an unknown tale erased from history. An ancient group that dwells in the shadows finally rises after all this time, planning and waiting for the right moment to strike. The magic in the air is now alert, searching for one pony. One pony who will wield the power to fight back against the darkness.

Link used to be an ordinary apple farmer, until one event in his life changes him forever. He now roams the land in search for answers. He meets old tribes and creatures long forgotten, finally showing themselves to the world. He finds new places appearing out of nowhere, never marked on a normal map. Nature has started to act more strangely than normal, hiding what appears to be one of the most guarded legends of Equestria. With his will contesting against everything in the world, will Link survive to bring a new era of peace? Or will he fall to the monsters brought out to this world again?

A Necromancer was sealed away in this temple a thousand years ago.
