Deep in the Royal Library is a book. A terrible book that is said to send whoever reads it mad. A book so dangerous that it has to be hidden away and secured with chains to prevent it from ever being opened.

A book which has just been accidently checked out by Spike on behalf of Twilight Sparkle.

The Star In Yellow is rising once more, and only Rainbow Dash and Spike can save Twilight before it's too late. Ideas live forever. Ponies do not.

This fic is loosely inspired by the 19th century story 'The King In Yellow'.

Sombra was not always the heartless ruler that ruled the Crystal empire with an iron hoof. He once had friends, a home, a lover...
But his thirst for knowledge and power led him down a dangerous road.

By chance or the powers that be, Sombra is deemed worthy of a second chance to correct a thousand year old mistake. History ignores intentions however, only recording actions. Can Sombra find a way to bring peace to his heart and those he cares for, or will the darkness from his past consume him?

Often called a psychotic, meth dealing hillbilly with a habit of untamed violence and murder sprees, Trevor Philips is someone that no one wants to mess with. The body pile he leaves behind and then sets on fire just for the heck of it proves that. But after a particularly deadly drug deal gone wrong, Trevor finds himself in a place even his disturbed mind has difficulty comprehending.

The feeling is mutual for the ponies.

Why am I an earth pony? When I asked my father, he told me about gravity, and entropy, and the cold depths between the black stars that eat entire worlds, but it only confused me more. When I asked my mother, she only laughed, and told me I’m special, whatever anypony says about my form. A princess is always a princess, she said...

Pinkie Pie's true family rules a world beyond entropy, a place we know as Carcosa. Millions of years after the events of the show, the Pink One writes of her life, and what it means to be an earth pony touched by a much higher power than any alicorn.

Note: This was originally written between Seasons 1 and 2, and may ignore conflicting lore established by Season 2 or later. THIS IS REALLY OLD WHY ARE YOU STILL READING THIS

Twilight Sparkle and her friends are snowed into the library one evening, and they happen upon that rarest of specimens - a book Twilight doesn't recognise. However, the ancient tale of adventure and intrigue they find inside ends up shattering their worldview and sending them on an adventure of their own.

This is basically what came to my mind when I heard that Lauren Faust's original concept for the show was of a more arc-based, magical girl style (this turned out not to be true, but my mind ran with it anyway), but this story ended up a long way from magical girls and well into high fantasy by the time I started writing. Also draws on select Homestuck and Dungeons & Dragons themes, and plays with a lot of things the canon leaves unexplained.

Tag update: Reduced character tags to Mane 6, CMC, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash. While the Mane 6 and CMC provide most of the ensemble cast, Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash are the primary viewpoint characters.

Additional Tags: Anthro, conspiracy, high fantasy, gryphons, war.

A horrible Cataclysm has turned all of Equestria into a Wasteland of barren ash and twilight desolation. The Sun and the Moon have been destroyed. Everypony has died--including Princesses Luna and Celestia. But one pony miraculously survives; she is a lone wanderer, the last of her kind, surrounded by menacing creatures that hate her. She navigates the Wastes in an airship and scavenges off the blighted landscape to keep herself alive.

Then one day she meets an old companion who grants her a gift, the chance to go back in time to the warm and sunny days of Ponyville, where her dead friends live in happiness. How far will the last pony venture into this joyous age of Equestria, even if she fully knows that there is no way to change the horrible fate of everypony she loves?

King Sombra’s dark influence was obliterated by the Crystal Heart, and the villain is well and truly dead. But when he attempts to steal the afterlife of an innocent victim, a human spirit is left hurtling towards Equestria, where this unfortunate soul is revived into the only vessel available: the reconstituted body of King Sombra himself.

Thus, a cheerfully oblivious alien is crammed into the form of the most evil and malicious being Equestria has ever known. Not that Shining Armor and Cadence know this, of course. As far as they are concerned, the King is back and he’s lost his fricking mind.

Sequel to "Going Through the Paces". More lighthearted and age-appropriate. As Hearth's Warming Eve approaches, Misty Meadow returns to lend her friends a hand in preparations...but soon finds out she has her own special challenge to overcome when ponies begin discriminating against her condition.

This story is a direct follow up to "Going Through The Paces". Normally, I'm not one for focusing too much on OCs...but, once again, she was the most appropriate character for this fanfiction. This is another issue that I have dealt with and have seen others had to deal with out of ignorance and callousness by other people. I got the idea writing the first fanfiction, and I felt it deserved to be touched on. Since MLP is also about dealing with allegories for real life issues such as this one, I figured it was more than appropriate. Unlike "Going Through The Paces", everyone is more in character and the story is "lighthearted" enough to mesh with the show more perfectly, in my opinion. I hope it ends up being more enjoyable.

During Summer Swap Meet, the Mane Six meet an unusual and strange acting pony visiting the community. However, this unconventional mare is harboring a big secret that Twilight must discover quickly if she is to avert a tragedy...

This is the first fanfiction I ever wrote for MLP, and basically deals with a topic that's rather close to home for me... Would the Mane Six be able to befriend an "unusual" pony who doesn't quite "think the same" as others? I never intended for my OC to "join the Mane Six" or anything. I created her in order to basically make a character who has Asperger's Syndrome, to try and relate how hard it is for people who have this condition to integrate socially and make friends, no matter how hard they try. I also wanted to show just how hard it can be at times on a personal level. Because of that...this has some "darker" material than Y related show, but I'm still going to rate it Everyone.

Most of all...it's a thank you to all my own friends who never gave up on me and saw past my condition. You mean the world to me.

Since this was my first MLP fanfic...I'm not sure I was quite in the "spirit" of the show even after revisions...but I still think it's good, so I hope you enjoy it.
