Once a devious villainess, Starlight Glimmer has come a long way in her reformation, now making up for her past mistakes with the aid of her new friends. Unfortunately, her past has her questioning if evil runs in the family so acting on Twilight Sparkle's advice, she decides to make a presentation on her family's genealogy. After an exhaustive search, Starlight discovers that she is, in fact, descended from Clover the Clever, Star Swirl the Bearded's pupil and one of the founders of Equestria!

Armed with this knowledge, Starlight decides on a more "interactive approach" for her presentation. Enacting a time spell, she brings Clover the Clever to the present and gets to know her great-great-great (times fifty) great-grandfather.

Yes, I am aware that some people write Clover the Clever as a female but in My Little Pony: Equestria Girls-Forgotten Friendship, Clover is described as "he" so that's what I'm going with.

The "Great and Powerful" Trixie is a down-on-her luck magician that is broke and struggling to find a gig. One day, she purchases a ventriloquist dummy in an attempt to reinvent her act. The dummy, dubbed "The Amazing Presto," turns out to be not your average dummy and Trixie soon finds herself in a battle against her pint-sized partner. Can Trixie triumph against Presto or is it curtains for her?

When King Sombra returned for the second time, Princess Cadence wound up discovering the true origins of her birth, throwing her whole world out of whack and causing her to question her own identity. In order to solve this dilemma, she journeys to Canterlot to visit the ponies she's known her whole life as "Mom and Dad" in order to hear the truth from their mouths.

Rough Sketch is a young artist from Baltimare who has recently suffered a personal tragedy. At the request of his friend and art manager, he travels to the seemingly idyllic Sasamare Lake in Vanhoover to recover but Rough Sketch has other plans. While out on the lake, he encounters the kelpie Sassie, a water pony that catches both his eye and his mind. Having found his muse, he decides to learn all he can about the strange mare, who is just as interested in him as he is in her.

King Sombra, the dark sorcerer and former ruler of the Crystal Empire, has been defeated by Twilight Sparkle and the other bearers of the Elements of Harmony, leaving him stripped of his magic and imprisoned deep below the surface of Canterlot Castle. There, he waits for his chance to take revenge against Princess Celestia and conquer Equestria, though his affection for both his long-lost daughter and the mare that he loves have him question everything that he knows. Can the shadow-pony learn forgiveness and mercy or will he let his deep-seated anger and desire for vengeance consume him?

The once peaceful land of Equestria has fallen under the iron fisted-rule of King Discord, the cruel Spirit of Disharmony and Chaos. After defeating the six heroes known as the Elements of Harmony and deposing of the Princesses of Day and Night, Discord reigns over his new kingdom unchallenged. There is, however, one who refuses to bow down before the new tyrant. Spike, a young dragon and former ward of the Element of Magic, has managed to escape and has in his possession the one tool powerful enough to end Discord's tyranny: the Staff of Harmony. As the dragon makes his way through the perilous new Equestria, Discord will do everything in his power to stop Spike's noble quest.

After returning to the side of good and banishing a threat to Equestria, Sombra is dealing with new changes, both physically and emotionally. He is now dating Twilight Sparkle and has moved to Ponyville with hopes of a fresh start. What kind of wacky adventures can the former Shadow King get into?

After his violent defeat, the former tyrant King Sombra has managed to claw his way back from the land of the dead and has returned to Equestria to seek revenge on Princess Celestia and the Elements of Harmony. However, the Emperor of Darkness is no fool. He knows that he cannot simply seek retribution on the Main Six or the Princess of Day, so he waits, gathering intel on his foes, learning of their weaknesses. When the time is right, he will strike. Can our heroes overcome King Sombra's plot for vengeance?
