The Red Parade

Cars are still parked outside. If the rapture had happened, why was it unrecognizable? Why was the sky blue? Why did no one tell me? Do these things not announce themselves?

E

It's been many years since Bright Mac and Pear Butter disappeared. Everyone had assumed they died, lost to Timberwolves on a fateful night. But what if that wasn't the case?

A story which takes place immediately following the Changeling reformation. A commission for Sunset_Shimmer83!

“30 years,” Twilight sputtered.

....... wat.....? At most they've been 'dead' for 10, maybe 12 years. Not 30.

Well, maybe fifteen. It is a reasonably popular belief that they died a bit before Rainbow Dash's first Sonic Rainboom. It has very likely been around three years after the Sonic Rainboom, which was probably around twelve years before Nightmare Moon's return. So, fifteen years altogether.

Excellent work on the dialogue, characterizations and general wrap-up in this one-shot. And, yeah, I could see Twilight's reaction to seeing the ghosts of Applejack's parents after Applejack likely told her about them.

yeah that's sumo me off too especially when we cut to the farm and granny still there

Dude... Applebloom isn't even a teenager in the show by this point.

Then, Bright Mac sprang up and punched her in the jaw.

In fairness, given the situation they last remembered being in... :rainbowlaugh:

Personally, I would've told the story entirely from the point of view of Pear and Bright and no character else...but then I'm a sucker for stories with that sort of approach, so... :derpytongue2:

I have to agree with 11808244, 30 years is much too long for a return sometime in-between seasons six and seven. Ten to fifteen tops would be a far more reasonable time frame, and still no small amount of time either, so you'd still have that emotional impact as portrayed no problem (really, you could just change it from 30 to, I dunno, 13 and leave everything else exactly the same without any trouble).

Definitely expected something a bit lighter, given the title and description.

This was valid and largely well executed.

Time moves differently for the dead, I guess.

I read the title and the description and thought this was all one big reference to "Little Talks" by Of Monsters and Men...and it definitely wasn't. Bamboozled! :derpytongue2:

Doesn't mean I was let down, though. Very well-written.

Really neat concept that's both horrifying and heartwarming. It could be neat to expand this more.

I appreciate how, while this could have been drawn out more, the Apples weren’t having it. It’s been long enough.

Lovely work all around. Thank you for it.

Wow. Uh, that isn't the direction I was expecting. Pretty good, though.
