when I was little I was obsessed with the idea of living planes, this takes me back
You have a nice premise and the writing style is nice, but the ending feels like it doesn't really go anywhere. I'd like to think of an encouraging phrase that doesn't sound condecending, but I'm out of ideas at the moment. So, encouragement phrase, specifically of the sort that expresses you have potential and are capable of improvement.

I suspect the author's ending phrase was very deliberate. (See Link).
Great wry work in a small package, as you usually do! The ending's spot on, especially with the turn of phrase joke.
The HAMADRYAD-class combat NHP is one of the most capable known types on record, but even with regular cycling, each tends to develop eccentric obsessions that have little if anything to do with actual combat. The reason for this, as with much of NHP psychology, remains unclear.
In any case, delightful stuff. And Anon as Wallflower's dad makes a frankly terrifying amount of sense.
Quaint, out of the box idea that flows well. Everyone has an arc, with healthy balances of action. As someone else said, the ending feels a tad short, but it wraps nicely nonetheless.

-Advance AI operating stealth protype aircraft? Check.
-A war that pretty much started because one side got too paranoid that began invade and ocupy its neigbours? Check.
-A practically nameless, faceless pilot who probably was on radio silence but speaking only with Wallflower? Check.
Can I post this story into the Project Aces Group? Annon could easily fit as a missing member of the Erusean Sol Experimental Sqadron, flying a second X-02S Strike Weyvern with Wallflower being the COPRO unit in the Backseat and appearing in a section of the Cristal Cockpit screen!
