It had been 1,500 years ago since Princess Celestia and Princess Luna attempted to defeat the queen of Unicornia but before they could, she cast a spell to cause it to disappear. For what I have done so far most people probably aren't going to know a whole ton about the leader of Unicornia except that she is incredibly powerful. I will be releasing the next chapter in 2 or 3 days from now, that one might give some people an idea of what is going on or it may not. It will be in the third chapter when all the drama starts to come to the surface.

I don't know if EqG is canon to this story, but if it is, it would seem that Sunset wasn't the first of Celestia's protegés to grow hungry for power.

Oh this one makes Sunset Shimmer look tame in comparison and her reasons for wanting power are radically different! Regarding Twilight being the only non-egomaniac protege of Celestia's, I'm unsure about that. I'm sure there were others who didn't make the cut to rule alongside her and they understood that when they were let go.
So, instead of having a vendetta against cutie marks, Starlight has one against non-unicorns and stallions. Great...
