Not everyone likes the later seasons and the changes they made that are now canon. Twilight became an alicorn, Celestia & Luna retired, Big Mac is married, Spike has wings, the Crusaders have their cutie marks…etc.
On the one hand, we have more knowledge about the story. But on the other hand, ideas that we had before the new seasons came out have now been debunked. For instance, so many people thought Celestia’s corrupted half would be called something like “Nightmares Star” or “Corona Sun,” but now it is set to “Daybreaker.” Spike was considered to be some kind of spellcasting dragon, which is why he didn’t have wings. But now we know that he just hadn’t hit dragon puberty yet. And there were all kinds of theories about when and how the Crusaders would get their marks, and then they finally did.

I do not specifically object to... well, to most of the later seasons, but Season 1 had a purity and a promise that honestly it would be difficult for anything to live up to.
I should probably note that characters from later seasons are not excluded. I can hardly do a FlutterMac without Discord or Marble in it, now can I? The version of Starlight in this is not quite so much a sociopath tho, so Sugar Belle is happily living a life where she has never been and never will be a cult member. She and Mac will not be entering each others lives.
This is not the first time Fluttershy’s revealed to be a closet pervert but I never get tired of that trope.

I see your world building in this story leans on realism, usually in these kinds of fics stallions lean against the wall to urinate into the regular toilet (yup, that’s VERY important information!). But whatever you prefer.

'Realism' is probably the wrong word since I have a chart detailing torso lengths and erect penis lengths on various ponies and the later is often longer then the former, sometimes on the same pony (eg. Butterscotch), but I strive for attention to detail, I guess. Still procrastinating on the ponish conlang.
Now I'm wondering what Ponyville does with its sewage? We can presume, with the generally late 19th/early 20th tech level of the show, that they have indoor plumbing, but where is the sewage going? Do they have septic tanks? And if so, how do they drain them? Are they dumping it in the Canter River? That seems gross. Do unicorns magic it away to processing plants like fucking Harry Potter?
Wait I like that last one.
Anyway that's simply a public works issue; I will NOT be sexualizing that. I have a love-hate relationship with pee as it is.
