Spike finds something interesting while cleaning. Something that he never thought somepony would treat so poorly. If only he knew the significance of the item he'd just found.

Even though the punchline of it being done by Starlight was kind of obvious for me, still love it. Don't find a lot with Starlight doing fanfics. Usually Twilight.

Or Rainbow Dash. But hers are usually bad.

Thank you. Yes, but in this case it was an original. :raritywink: Yeah, I can see what you mean. Could you pretty please hide the spoilers in your comment though? Some people might still be surprised at the end. :twilightsheepish:

Awe, that was sweet:pinkiesmile:

Thank you! I'm glad you thought so.

Well that's quite lovely. It's pretty clear to me what the ending would be halfway through, but the writing's still very enjoyable and the way you wrote the character's really believable, very much like the way they'd act in the show. 'Tis a good slice of life. I like it.

Thank you so much! I appreciate your taking the time to comment.

I had no idea starting this how it would end up. It was satisfying.

:yay: Yay! I'm so glad you liked it! :pinkiehappy:

Ya know, I was gonna say something about the title including your author's name, but after reading the story... I can only applaud you for it. Gj on that, dude
In regards to the story's contents, I can't say I didn't see the ending happening about halfway through. But I still really enjoyed it. I feel the emotional weight would have hit a lot harder had the story been longer, but again, it was really good. So, you know, great job mate!

Thank you for your detailed comment, and I'm very happy you enjoyed the story.

So does Spike Just assume that every book in the castle belongs to Twilight?

Admittedly, I kind of predicted Starlight had written it, but I didn't expect her to actually take credit for it. It was really sweet, and felt perfectly in tone with an MLP episode :) Also, I love the automatic rule in the castle that every book belongs to Twilight; domestic friendship castle life is one of my favourite things in fanfiction!

Aww, thanks! I'm so glad you felt that way about it.

I... this is really cute, and suddenly why your name is in the title makes 100% more sense! And it's a good reminder of how having just a little bit of positive feedback can go a long way for a writer's confidence!

My name is in the—Oops! :twilightoops: That was actually an accident. I copy-pasted the name of my document. :facehoof: Thanks for pointing that out. :twilightblush:

Ahem. Yes. Thank you! I'm very happy you enjoyed the story.

Also, the pony in your avatar is super cute! :pinkiehappy:

Twilight is going to love Starlight more than ever once she finds out. :pinkiecrazy: The fact she not only writes books, but great books.

The fastest way to book horses heart is through literture and magic. And it looks like Starlight is great at both here.

Heckin cute story, you earned a like and more

Haha! I could definitely see Twilight really wanting to read something Starlight wrote, and Starlight feeling uneasy about sharing it. Once the hesitations subsided though, it would be fun to see them bond more as friends because of a shared interest like that.

Can relate to Starlight, this was a nice short read! Good job

Thank you so much. I appreciate it.

I can certainly understand why this was Featured.

This was a cute little story. Have a like.

thanks for fulfilling my daily dose of adorable with that

This was really cute! :pinkiehappy:

Obvious ending

1 👍 out of 1

Haha! :pinkiehappy: I'm glad you liked it that much.

That was a sweet, short story. Thank you

This was a cute little story. It would be really neat if you continue it, did Starlight write other books under that pen name? I kind of want to see Spike and Twilight find out about it too. It's a really interesting idea you've got here, even if it is only meant to be a one shot.

And thank you for reading it. :raritywink:

Thanks! I've been pleasantly surprised by all the people who like it so much! :pinkiehappy:

it's a really relateable story for most active writers on the site.

What a wholesome story...:pinkiehappy:

A short animation of this would be amazing. :derpytongue2:

"Wholesome" - one of my favorite words ever! :pinkiehappy: Thanks so much for the encouragement!

Well that’s a flawed way of thinking.

Admittedly, that is often the case with assumptions. But the majority of the books in the castle definitely belong to Twilight. Percentage-wise, one could argue that the facts were in his favor. :moustache:

My man, I like your style: it isn't (what we could call) irritably elaborate, as many are, but simple and effective, not saying too little but no more than it needs to. Good pacing again as a result and more good use of language. I did see where the story was going, but so what, you took me there very nicely. As I commented on your other story, it's pretty tough to pull off 1000-word one-shots on account of how little space you have to say anything and get it to come across as meaningful; you managed pretty well once again! And to top it off, you've been quite prolific of late, no? Recently, I've scrolled past a few of your stories, I think, and now, it seems, I'm reading them, hehe. You're doing great, bud. Pleasant little SoLs everyone can enjoy – never a bad formula. Take my follow.

I really enjoyed this story!

That was really good! Short, sweet, exactly as long as it needed to be, and a good dose of heartwarming for good measure.

Thank you for sharing it with us!

Yeah but he should’ve at least considered the possibility that the book belongs to Starlight.

Awesome! I'm so glad you enjoyed this one too! Yeah, little slice of life one-shots are my favorite. Thank you so much for the follow.
