True Edge

"Bad things happen. There's never gonna be a time when everything's perfect, but that don't mean we stop tryin'!" - Applejack

After a brief glimpse of happiness, of thinking that perhaps she had found one who understood her pain and loneliness, Marble Pie now feels that she has lost everything.

It will take some wisdom from an unexpected source to set her right.

Written because I really like Sugar Belle, and think she’s good for Big Mac. . . But come on, we all adore Marble, and really now, who didn’t feel their heart break when they saw that look on her face?

Oh, Marble... God, I felt my heart break when I saw that scene. Nicely done, handled this subject with decency and respect.

I tried my best. Thank you.

What a wonderful, wonderful story. It takes the Ponies seriously, looks inside the mind and heart of the one pony who so far has not uttered a single word on screen, and treated both her and Sugar Belle with compassion, understanding, and respect.

I was wondering if I were the only one to see that heartbreaking look on poor Marble's face when she saw Mac and Sugar Belle kiss. I'm gratified to know that I was not.

This was really well handled. I like how you handled Marble Pie and Sugar Belle. Before being a SugarMac shipper, I was indeed a MarbleMac shipper, regardless if they were related or not.
Great job.

I’ve never had a story get this many comments this fast, and they’re all so kind and heartwarming! I feel all warm and fuzzy right now! Thank you both! I’m so glad you liked the story! :pinkiehappy:

Dang...That was Amazing! Keep it up <3.

I'd say you succeeded.

I loved this story, and you are correct when you said it broke my heart to see marbles face in that moment as much as I support sugarmac

Oh, my heart broke when I saw that look on her face. Poor Marble! I feel like she talks a bit more in this story than I could see her doing, but then again, this story also would not have as much of an impact if she didn't talk. This is a lovely, if still heart-breaking, way to resolve that scene.

Yeah, she’s more talkative here than she is in the show but, bear in mind: Firstly, as you pointed out, her dialogue is kind of necessary for the scene, and I did try to keep it as minimal as possible.

But, also, consider this: Compared to BIg Mac, Marble has had practically no screen time. Considering how little Mac talks, if he had not had any more screen time than Marble, we might assume that he NEVER speaks, either. But, because during the course of the series, we’ve had occasion to see him voice his thoughts and feelings from time to time, we understand that he can do this, although it’s not something he does lightly. I like to think that Marble is much the same as Mackie, in that regard. She doesn’t talk a lot, out of preference not to, but if she felt the need, she would.

Anyway, thank you so much for the comment! I’m so happy this story is doing so well. :pinkiehappy:

Is the cover a pic from the show ?

It's a vector that I edited with MS paint.

Whelp. Time to cry.

My job here is done.

Wow, this was great! I felt so horrible that they did that to poor Marble. I would have loved it if they made an episode or comic about it, but I guess fan work will have to suffice
