Hearth's Warming is a time for coming together, whether that means an estranged grandfather, a new very special somepony, or the distant cousin who you lost touch with after meeting said somepony.

Wait.

Uh oh.

Utterly delightful in every way! Great character voicing.

One typo:

and saw matching soft smiled

A sweet and very enjoyable read!

Also, the "grumpuses" vs. "grumpi" thing was perfectly Pinkie. :pinkiehappy:

Said it once, and I'll say it again: this is a lovely wee piece. A bit of family drama's in the best of festive traditions.

That was really quite cute.

That was extremely cute :ajsmug:

D'awww.

Also for some reason, I really liked the presence of all the old ponies too. I'd love to see more Cloudy Quartz visiting Ponyville.

Damn, for a moment there I thought they where going to share him.

This is a nice resolution to the ship tease in "Hearth Breakers." As usual, your portrayal of Pinkie and Granny Smith is wonderful, but I really love the way you write Cloudy Quartz and Grand Pear. Cloudy is just so matter-of-fact and unflappable that you can see where Maud gets it from, although not quite in the same way.

"I know, I'm not telling you anything you don't already know, but it's not like I've dealt with this myself. Usually beautiful mares threw themselves at me one at a time."

Well, Grand Pear is Captain Kirk in another life.

That was a sweet and heartwarming story. Wasn't expecting the ending bit though with Maud.:rainbowlaugh:

Great sweet story.

8637665 Great idea. If Trixie is in town visiting Starlight, Quartz could stop by and give her a piece of her mind on ungrateful farmhooves who repay honest work by stealing their daughter's mouths.

That was supremely adorable. And the Maud bit was great.

Do we know if Grand Pear's name is meant to be a play on Grand-père as well as a fruit?
Because it's a really nice name both ways.

It's always nice when I can get her to suggest her own lines.

Goodness knows. I think this was the first time in six years when my mother didn't immediately sigh with relief once my sister left the house after Christmas.

8637665
With two daughters living there, I have to imagine she's done so at least once or twice lately.

Sorry, no herding in this particular Equestria. That sort of thing tends to trivialize love triangles.

Cloudy is so unflappable, pegasi find it hard to stay airborne around her. You can't raise Pinkie and Limestone without some serious mental fortitude, to say nothing of a pony who gave birth to twins and then went right back to farming rocks.

And remember, Granny Smith is the one green woman who Shatner's character never even wanted to seduce.

I'm going to have to remember that idea. Trixie may resent Igneous, but I have no doubt that she quickly learned to respect Cloudy.

When dealing with Fluttershy 3: Shy Hard on a Rock Farm (as opposed to Fluttershy 2: The Shypones Take Manehattan,) it's hard to not be cute. Glad you all enjoyed it.

Given that his entire narrative purpose is to be the Apple siblings' grandfather, I have to assume so.

Gonna be honest... if there is any group of three ponies I ship together is Big Mac, Marble Pie, and Sugar Belle.

This was based on a prompt... but on the other hand, that prompt only called for Big Mac and Sugar Belle. Adding Marble was my idea, since the holiday season just isn't complete without family drama.

I'm not saying I called it, but I may have dialed the right number accidentally.

I wonder who would win in a pony brawl in the apple family kitchen, marble pie or sugar belle

If it was happening in the Apples' kitchen, especially with a Hearth's Warming casserole in the oven? Granny Smith.

Still, it is remarkable whenever the show writers or animators channel a something the rest of us picked up on almost immediately.
Isn’t that what a “meme” is? Fandom came to this conclusion first, then canon had an opportunity to also acknowledge its own continuity?
I really like this story, and certainly enjoyed re-reading it a year later. I also enjoyed jumping up in front of my wife during this moment in the special, crying out “Ha! I read that story!” She gave me a funny look, followed by a healthy rolling of the eyes.

"I'm not the one he loves. I'm not sure if I ever was. Maybe a little crush, but... well, we are cousins." Marble shrugged. "Maybe. Very distantly."

I still don't know about this whole theory about Applejack and Pinkie Pie being cousins at all but I guess that's all we can get from it

Well this is a very interesting store here so it looks like hearts warming eve is here once again and the pie family went to the apple farm for the holidays well at least some of them just only the mother and Pinkie Pie's younger sister marble pie and it looks like sugar belle this will be the first time meeting with the pie family and even introducing her to the family but things kind of went South when Pinkie Pie almost spill the beans but Big Mac kind of said sugar belle is his girlfriend which Marble was pretty heartbroken knowing to the fact that big mac didn't tell her which oops that was a bad thing and sugar belle was not too happy either but after marble kind of calm down so did sugar belle they kind of talked about this whole misunderstanding and even asking question that sugar belle really did care for him marble accepted that Big Mac was in love with somebody and sometimes it's so kind of hurts so I know how that feels but anyway this was a pretty good story
