Twi light slowly opened her eyes and adjusted to the dim light in the room. She tried to get up, but found her hooves were restrained, and something was preventing her from using her magic. From her position, lying on her back on a cold surface, she could only see a portion of the ceiling. " Star light?" she called.

why are they italicized why are they italicized why are they italicized WHY ARE THEY ITALICIZED

Twilight screamed

So...corrupted data logs or something? Experiments on clones?
I really can't find any kind of interpretation for this. It was an interesting read nonetheless.

I do horrifying research on a daily basis, this is like a normal day to me.

Also, this was quite confusing to read.

It hurts. It shouldn't hurt like this. Hard seeing things.

Oh. Oh no. And the end of the chapter... the earliest I noticed the name swaps was at the beginning of the journal, Twilight.

Oh, I see, normal day in the lab for Twilight then. That kooky alicorn, will her shenanigans never cease?

So, while a definitive answer to what happened is not present, I believe that to be the intention. The mind can make such incredible vistas of horror and wrongness if you give it the mere vestiges of events.

The best horror is done this way. Because actually knowing what is going on, being able to classify, codify, understand what is happening actually detracts from the feelings of existential dread. There is nothing more terrifying than being lost in—and not being able to understand—a situation. Nothing as terrifying as being unable to answer the one question posed at the end: Why?

This story is intriguing. It is actually one of the few stories here that scared me,especially the second chapter.Even if it's very confusing,I found the part with"light" in the 2nd chapter very clever, considering both Starlight and Twilight end in"light".
I love how it leaves the plot in the air,so everyone can assume what they want.
My point of view is that Starlight tried to make clones but failed, but I may be wrong though.I really want someone to tell me their opinion too

After reading this story again,my opinion of it and it's plot is that maybe Twilight killed Starlight. So let me explain:Starlight wanted to become and alicorn, and her theory was that she can become an alicorn if twilight injects her with her Alicorn essence.Twilight then does it but I'm assuming they keep it a secret.Starlight thinks the test is a success and tries to clone plants and then herself, but she fails.Twilight let Starlight live in her home in Ponyville without knowing what's happening with Starlight,so she decides to investigate after RD tells her to.After she finds out what is happening, she decides to clone Starlight so it wouldn't rose any suspicion after the "original"starlight died, because Starlight let her do it in the first place.
This is just my opinion,so I might be extremely wrong.

Confused. Did Starlight meet an unfortunate end and Twilight made more bodies for her but her memories kept messing up?
