I, I honestly can't describe how shocked I am. I don't get it, I honestly don't understand how this is suposed to be a good sequal.
I went into this thinking about one of the great, possibly and in my opinion the greatest and most recognized fan fic in history. I loved My Little Dashy and am not ashamed to say i cry every time i read it. So naturally i had impossible hopes for this sequal. Any small thing i was going to latch onto and nitpick because the original ended so strongly. Nopony could wright a sequal to match that ending, not even the original wrighter. It's impossible. So realizing this i decided to give this story some leway.
Then i noticed all the spelling mistakes, knowing my own spelling i forgave them all instantly, but was ticked that they were here. Then they told part of the story for Rainbows perspective, which never happened in My Little Dashy excluding the note, and I'm sorry but thats just not how the story should be told. The original was so strong because of the way it was told to us, through wrightings, not as they happened. It aloud more emotion and thought to be put into them. This...so i forgave that and found the next problem
The original auther NEVER made any referance to anything show related, besides the number of seasones, that there where 8 and the sonic rainboom. To say what seasone 7's pilot was going to be...bugged me. But i forgave that and found the next problem. They said his name, i'm sorry but i drew the line there. Anything after that would just be to much, the beauty of this character was his facelessness, he could be anyone, The name givin in truth describes little but i just feel this great shattering of the atmosphere of the first story.
Then there was another problem, which not only broke the line i had drawn, but caused me to right this incredable waist of your time. They had to build a portal out of transisters and wires and Celestia nows what else to get here? WHY? HOW in EQUESTRIA did they get THAT tecnology? Why don't we see it anywhere else? We've seen the hospital as a modern hospital, and the flim flam brothers ssss6k, but that stuff runs on magic, not electricity, how the hay is THIS here? And that cop out ending where everything is returned, albeit the best part of the story left me feeling horrible, because it's such a let down from the previouse ending.
I just don't know what to say. I understand why you guys like this but, the original was so much better/ How could anypony think when they went into this that they could give a proper sequal i don't know but aparently they did it because you all seem to like it. Maby i'm missing something or maybe I'm just upset becasuse the original was in all honesty the best peice of art i've ever read but this...this makes me sad, not because it's suposed to, but because it feels so unnessisary.
ON A POSITIVE NOTE: bet you didn't think i'd say that. The ending was nice, on it's own as a randome thousand word story that turned out to be a dream, i'd love it. And i can see the wrighter cared about this, so i'm trying to be as nice as possible, alot of talent is here and could be used to wright great things, just not sequals to things that don't need them
TL;DR I didn't like the story but i respect all who did and probably wouldn't of like it if it was perfect because of my veiws on the original story anyway so i'm glad you all liked this story but i'm giving it thumbs down.

Wasn't it a day in equestria was a year in our world. Remember when her friends were surprised that dashie had already become accustomed to calling him "Daddy", that was because to them, she was only gone 15 days. I doubt her friends would go seven and a half years before coming over.
She was with him until she was 15, where did the 17 years old come into it? or was that just a typo meaning to say when she was 7 years old?

It isn't a direct sequel, that doesn't mean its not great. However you can tell by the different writing style and a few plot changes.
Most dominant is the time difference. In the original it used to be 1 day in equestria was a year here, but that had to be changed for the concept of the story to make sense
