...So, sorta confused here, did they actually rekindle their relationship at the end or not? All in all, not that bad of a story though.

My personal interpretation is that there isn’t an obvious “yes” or “no” answer to that question.
They’ve gone from barely standing to be near each other to at least think of their partner in a neutral light, in my eyes that’s a huge progress in their relationship. With that said, even the best first step can lead nowhere if there isn’t a solid work to follow.
I think they will be seeing each other for mutual sexual relief in the near future, but I’m not sure about them ending up back together romantically. I can picture a future in which they keep their love-hate relationship alive, and I’m well aware of how fragile of an equilibrium that is. Nevertheless, I can't help but thinking that seeing just a little of each other for mostly sexual encounters sounds like something that could honestly work for both, even for more than the immediate future.
I do like that the ending is open and leaves room to fantasize, I’d love to hear your idea of what happens after the narrated events.

You can take the ending in any way that you want. I tried to it kind of open ended so that we could all enjoy it, no matter how we think that Slip and Saturn's relationship will move forward.

second, you did a nice job on talking about their past. From slip's regret and sorrow to saturn's change and bitterness. It made me feels sorry for both of them just like in the original universe
and finally; whooowe that was some intense hatefuck these two had. I can see that this is what both of them needed and i'll be damned if i say they wouldn't do that again. If they don't reunite, at least they could be fuckbuddies, eh?

Thank you so much for the compliments! My goal was to provide some background information on the both of them so that people could feel a little bad for them, even when gender swapped.
Of course they both very much needed some relief. A lot of tension can be build over 16 years. I don't want to make anything certain about their future, so who knows?
