You'd have to read "Celestia's Protege" to understand why. What I had happen was since the rainboom never happened, Twilight never got into Celestia's school but Starlight did and she did not neglect her friends up in Canterlot, she embraced them and didn't skip Moondancer's party....and without the rainboom, none of the Ponyville 5 would have got their marks, well the marks that they did anyway.
Applejack would have stayed in Manehattan, Pinkamena would have stayed on the rock farm, Fluttershy never would have discovered her ability to communicate with animals, Rainbow never would have got her mark, Rarity never would have discovered her gem finding abilities and of course Twilight would have failed her entrance exam.

Yes, she was. While she was very studious, she also was more sociable while she was in Celestia's school than Twilight was. I didn't want it to be simply a matter of role swapping between Twilight and Starlight, I wanted to throw a bit of a curveball in there.

In what I suppose I would call my "Starlieverse" Moondancer is the closest of Starlight's friends which is why I placed her as the element of loyalty. It is probably obvious why I have Minuette as laughter and in my Starlieverse, Lemon Hearts is actually a big sister to Applejack. You'd have to read the chapter/episode "Closer than She Thinks" in "Starlight Glimmer and Friends" to understand why I made her the element of honesty.

Oh sure it looks like it turned out well, but creating a paradox can only result in... Chaos. Yes I am speaking of Discord, he's going to know something is up when he doesn't have his wafui anymore. Then there is Pinkie Pie, her Pinkie sense will be going nuts. Lastly the EQG universe didn't necessarily change, Sunset wouldn't let this stand. Lastly I don't think it will stick because Twilight's cutie mark is on the Tree of Harmony, she was always meant to bear the element of magic, Starlight might want to watch out, she might have an "accident" that forces Twilight to take the element back...

In this timeline he never even met Fluttershy so there would be no waifu for him to have, unless it wound up being Twinkleshine (my Starlieverse's element of kindness).
She remained Pinkamena and never left the rock farm so she may never have developed the Pinkie sense.
Given that Twilight never made it into Celestia's school, Sunset never met Twilight thus Starlight being a princess would be normal for her, although in the Starlieverse I have created and will continue to go through in "Starlight Glimmer and Friends" the mirror will never even come into play.
Twilight got her cutie mark by that magical outburst that caused her to hatch Spike from the rainboom and that never happened so who is to say what her CM is here?

We saw the Tree in a flash back and the element of magic has never changed shape. The other 5 change to match the user, Magic has always been a 6 pointed star. Pinkie and Discord are beings who exist in a meta state, they would know something was wrong, not specifically but vaguely. Also we have the whole issue of the causality paradox, by causing her past to change Starlight prevents her self traveling though time to change things. An event that prevents it's own occurrence is a paradox, paradoxes are usually depicted as causing bad things to happen or the resolution having very painful side effects.
I do suppose it could be a case of an alternate reality spawning, which means Princess Starlight may need to fight herself to stabilize the prime timeline, to prevent it's collapse destroying her universe in the process.

True but remember that Celestia used it when she and Luna turned Discord back into stone so I doubt the shape of that particular element really matters.
In the new reality neither one would know any different....Pinkamena staying on the rock farm would be the norm and Discord would not know any different, Starlight Glimmer ascending would have been the norm.
The way I wrote this it wound up being Twilight who traveled through time and in the end Starlight defeated Twilight to keep the Starlieverse intact. There was a huge personality swap in the two dating all the way back to her stopping the rainboom. Now Twilight didn't go through the same things Starlight did to cause her to go down the same path but she did go down a bad path at one point or another.
For the regular universe to be restored, what happened in the show would have had to happen. In my story, it just turned out that the universe that emerged wound up being one where the roles were reversed, Starlight's magical talent was discovered, she went to Celestia's school, became a sociable friend and protege and that is why the Mane Six changed.

In the Starlieverse things may happen that caused Starlight to not be anywhere near where the mirror was when Sunset came through and stole the crown....and that is the case in my Starlieverse which would mean Equestria Girls never even came to be.

Here is the thing, the changes date back all the way to well before Equestria Girls even started so her side of the mirror had not been cut off so she would be able to travel back to Equestria but in the Starlieverse, she was nowhere near Starlight when the mirror opened so let's say she did come back, she may have spent so much time trying to find the crown that by the time she got her hooves on it, the mirror may have been closed. I don't remember much about the original movie but how the hell did she even know about the crown to start with?

Well you got me on that one BUT she will also have plenty of the her from the altered timeline in her as well so it won't be as difficult as one may think. She would still have the personality from her time in school with the other element bearers....she would keep what she still has from her old self to herself, she couldn't even express that her around Spike because he did not know that Starlight, he knows the Starlight that raised him.
Ok, I get that there are a hell of a lot of paradoxes I never took into account here. I took a lot of all this from the beginning of what I have made my "Starlieverse."

Well I have three other stories that are based off of an ending in a story where all Starlight does is stop Twilight from hatching Spike and then she becomes the one to hatch Spike and becomes Celestia's protege. It is the "Glimmerverse" that I am creating. I figured that since there is a Lunaverse, a Shimmerverse and a Cadenceverse, why not a Glimmerverse. Now if I could get more support and people wanting to write stories that would fit into it, I would create a group for it.

Regarding Trixie, in "Resetting Her Destiny" Starlight and Trixie have their entrance exams for Celestia's school on the same day and while they are waiting, Trixie's arrogance and boasting really rubs Starlight the wrong way. Also, in "Celestia's Protege" Starlight tries to tutor Trixie and again her arrogance irritates her. In "Starlight Glimmer and Friends," Trixie arrives in Ponyville as a showmare and is just as annoying as ever. In the Glimmerverse, well what I have developed of it so far, she is no fan of her.

Ok, I've decided to change my mind on what I'm going to do. I am having problems on how to start the "Terror in Equestria" story so I'm going to work on "Starlight Glimmer and Friends" along with some non-linear Glimmerverse stories. It was 3 years between TiE 7 and TiE 8 so I don't think a gap between 9 and 10 will hurt on there, it may actually help and give me more time to develop it so you can expect updates on "Starlight Glimmer and Friends" and more Glimmerverse in general.

She's demonstrated she's a complete hypocrite, She's just given up on her whole Equality thing now she has a group of friends. It would have been better if her memory had been altered too to the new reality. So she'd have her vengeance but not know about it. That would have been a suitably karmic result.
