E

On the outside, he's just a baby dragon. But in his mind he's the greatest detective in Equestria. He's Spike Steel, private eye. This is a pony adaptation of a comic by Bill Watterson in "Calvin and Hobbes." This is where i got the idea, and some of the lines.

Awesome work, im liking this side of Spike very much.

52235 Haha, thanks. it's my first story on here, so i'm kinda new

52711 Keep up the good work.

52380 thanks, i'm glad you liked it :)

I applaud you, sir. This had to be one of the funniest and most amusing Spike-centered stories I've read in a while. For the most part, I think it's pretty much spot on with his characterization in the show as well. Overly vivid imagination due to being a baby dragon. Every single time you jumped back to the private-eye character, I couldn't help but smile all the way through.

Your style is great and this might just be because the story itself grasped my attention throughout, but I've hardly found any noticeable errors, either. Altogether, a really great job on this one, I hope to see more from you! Also, lemme congratulate you on that EqD feature, you most certainly deserved it!

This was fun to read- kind of reminds me of Pinkie's 'Detective Noir' mode in Sparkle's Law. Was that the inspiration? If not, you should totally go and read that.

But this is great by itself :)

57351 Oh na i haven't read that. But i'm sure i would enjoy it. I'll check it out. Thank you :pinkiehappy:

57348 Oh thank you so much. I have to give credit to the "Calvin and Hobbes" creator because much of the style came from him. But thank you, i made up all the crappy puns and one liners myself though :raritywink:

I remember the exact C&H comic that inspired this story. You captured Calvin's fantasy through Spike very well. The only problem was that I knew exactly how it ended since it followed the same plot. Anyways, good job.

This was hilarious. :moustache::facehoof:

57382 Yea, that was the downside to it. But i hope you enjoyed all the pony themed quotes and one-liners :ajsmug:

:moustache:

I approve of Calvin and Hobbes Pony crossovers at first I was like :trixieshiftright: but then I was like :pinkiehappy:

Calvin and Hobbes is my favorite everything, so a crossover just made my day :pinkiehappy:

Loved it

Oh ma, I loved this. I remember the very Calvin and Hobbes strip this comes from. I always did like those lapses into noir territory. Very well written and very funny!

57402 Thank you Plok
57410 And i was like :rainbowkiss: when i read your comment
57454 Nice choice good sir :raritywink:

I did not expect this story to be amazing, no offense, when i read it. But I was oh so wrong. This is one of the best stories I have read. Spike Steel needs another case. Soon

57908 haha, i wasn't planning on it, but i'll see what i can do :derpytongue2:

SO!
AWESOME!:rainbowkiss:

I reviewed your fic in my last webcast. Launch another dozen reads your way or so.

65099 Whoa! thanks. Do you have a link?

65184
Sure
Atmiddely it is a little short, but I didn't want to give any spoilers, and unlike Cupcakes or My Little Dashie I didn't end up talking about morality in any way.

65213 Thanks for the review! Yeah, i agree with most of what you said, i'm kinda new to Pony Stories so my writing gets geared more broadly. But thank you again, i always welcome constructive criticism

65287
Hey no problem. Put out another good fanfic and I'll probably give it a review. Who knows maybe misadventures of friendship will merit that review when I get around to reading it/

65304 Haha, maybe. It's not that popular, and it's written originally, so don't get too freaked out :twilightblush:

A very good fanfic that I simply couldn't click away from. Wish I had your talent.

85131 Thanks, and it just takes practice  You can do it

Haha, I'm glad I found this!

anyway, this is a good idea. I like it.

Very nice fic however I wish it had more attention because this piece deserves it. ^^ The only thing I was confused on when Twilight walked up the stairs to get Spike (I assumed he was in her bedroom sleeping. Then later on, in the italics you have the two of them entering the library's front door. The only way I could picture this working is if Spike had his own house/ at a sleepover. This was my only issue I had with this. :)

This is beautiful. It really has the feel of a C&H comic in longform. Bravo.

Lol! This sums up how I feel about the upcoming movie “Detective Pikachu!” :twilightsheepish:
