So that was it was. I almost didn't notice some strange inconsistencies in their characters between each part.
Just like the Spanish Inquisition.
I like how they are all seeing that together they are strong as they deal with their own personal issues.
Good chapter, did spot one typo.
No one
hmm interresting...
Reading this made me go back a chapter to understand wtf was going on. I mean, it was obvios that it's a dream of sorts, but it's written in a way to give headaches and encourage skipping paragraphs.
As a rule, I skip pointless dream sequences. Waste of time in 90% of all cases.
This sounded like one after the first few sentences.

It ain't pointless, and if you skip it you will be confused.
I think I get what's going on. When Cadance and Chrysalis used that spell to show them their memories of how they learned the word for cooperation, including the caveat that the spell would end once they learned the word, Cadance and Chryssie mistakenly thought that it was enough to teach them with their own memories. A work like cooperation can't just be taught by showing someone else their memories. It's a word that they have to experience the meaning of personally. This is what these dreams are for, aren't they? Allowing them to learn the meaning of the word in a more personal way, as well as dealing with an issue that may be preventing them from reaching their full potential.
Rarity's issue is obvious. She's afraid that because she's the least skilled when it comes to fighting (though Fluttershy is likely on par with Rarity in that sense), she'll just be useless or, worse, get in the way and make things worse. She had to learn that she doesn't have to be on par with her friends. She just has to do what she does best. Even if that's just being a distraction to buy time, that's enough to be useful.
Rainbow Dash's issue is a little more complicated to figure out. She's afraid of not being the best. But she's also afraid of leaving her friends behind to prove that she's the best, or that she may be the one left behind. That race was very symbolic. When Rainbow Dash stopped trying to be the best, she was able to allow it to be friendly competition. Rather than trying to be better than her friends, Rainbow wants to help raise her friends to her level (or at least almost, since RD still has to be awesome of course).
Pinkie Pie's issue is deceptively simple (although maybe I was thinking about it too hard). She's afraid of being unnoticed, left alone, and forgotten. And it's clear that this stems from the fact that she wasn't there with them (at least not physically, since she was there in spirit) during their first adventure into the Undertower. When she realized that she was not the only one who has missed out on adventures, she realized that her friends would never leave her behind or forget about her. They will always want her by their side.
That's three down, Applejack, Fluttershy, and Twilight to go.
