A prodigal child is born once more with a strange condition that makes her uniquely gifted in a lost magical art. Unfortunately for the child, that art is soul magic and Celestia does not tolerate the manipulation of a soul under any circumstances.

Fixed, ty.
So I seen to have dropped this one, did it got better since chapter 12?
hmmmmm so recap of what's going on in the backgrounds.
9859536
I'd like to say so, but I'm biased, for obvious reasons.
So that is what Sunset has been up too. I wonder what is going to become of her, she performed an act of kindness. Is she going to perform an act to do with each of the elements and become free? Also, how do you write so many stories at the same time without getting confused about all the stuff going on in each of them?
All the best.
looks like sunset_shimmer is learning that you don't mess with the everfree forest, its clearly sentient and doing everything it can to prevent her from her goal of stopping twilight and the gang.

Plan everything really far in advance, and reread every few months or so. To put it into perspective I have the next 8 or so months of updates planned for most of my stories and when I sit back down to plan again I reread bits and parts, and then write far, far into the future, making sure to add notes of stuff I want to see hinted at, or explained.
Its not perfect, but its working well, and I've actually penned the outline for the finale one of these stories already, meaning I know exactly what beats to hit, and what needs to be said.
So... You leave us with Spike being de-petrified (Is that the correct word?) and in this chapter we don't know absolutely nothing... Worse that a cliff-hanger... A chapter that leave you in the same place.
Sorry if this sound bad

Glad your intigued! I've really come a long way from those first few chapters so expect some better writing as things go on.

May I ask, is writing your full-time er...occupation? Because there's a lot of things you have in the process of being written and doing what you just mentioned is nothing short of time consuming.
9860452
It is indeed my full-time job. I'm lucky that I have some generous patrons, very low rent, and consistent commissioners. Otherwise, I wouldn't be able to do this.
Planning it all out actually doesn't take as much time as you might think. But then again I'm an idea man at heart so outlining is my favorite part of the job other than paying rent and reading nice comments.
Plus if you plan correctly you really only need to do it once every 9 months or so.

I admire your dedication and the great story you've put out (like right here. No offence towards your other works but this one really stands out to me) Please do keep it up!
Correct me if I misinterpreted but paying rent is one of your favourite jobs? Usually I hear otherwise.
Thanks for the great read(s)!
9860580
Well not the actual paying part, but being able to do so without having a 'real' job is really nice.

All will be revealed, in time.

Yes and no. If the everfee really wanted to kill and stop her it would have done so with the chimera in the same manner it used to lead her to the tower. now that she has the letters she can deliver them to twilight and basally lead her to the tablet.
Yeah! A fan of Kuzko! Well played my friend!
9859949
Glad to know I’m not the one one utterly confused with whatever is going on here
9863835
Why would it be confusing? Spike is no longer petrified, and we have a chapter dealing with other stuff. Its not rocket science.
9864155
the issue is some people don't like being strung along,
for where you answer every question 3 more come up, and after awhile there seems to be no progress made
my mom likes those kind of stories I don't
9869848
Thats a nature of a mystery, and a large world. That wont always happen though.
The plot thickens
So Sunset shared some of that Nightmare, eh?

"some people don't like being strung along [...] my mom likes those kind of stories I don't"
You've answered your own complaint. Most of us enjoy this storytelling. You don't. Nobody is forcing you to read.

Yes it can cause necrosis if left untreated, but it isn't likely to be lethal. In fact, if prooerly treated, it is closer to a long lasting bee sting. There still are no deaths officially caused by a brown recluse in North America.

Yes, yes yes yes, instead of having to explain it I am just going to quote bob ross herei.imgur.com/NjIoz.jpg
That was a very nice job you did burying that body Sunset. Thank you Jest for continuing both of these stories.
9862195
Noticed that too, did you? Thought I check the comments before making one of my own about that little discovery.
9870132
Hopefully they both realize that.
That...is pretty funny, and kinda cute.
Ohhh, it’s an Emperor’s New Groove reference. That makes sense.
Bronze is actually a little bit better than iron. It's easier to work with, is harder, and resists corrosion. However, it was also much less convenient and way more expensive.
The reason why iron replaced bronze, hence the Iron Age, is because the quality of individual weapons and armor is not important in war. Iron was more suitable for mass production and less susceptible to economic catastrophes. That's because you need both copper and tin mines to make bronze, and those are usually not in the same place, so you have to set up slow, expensive shipping lines that can be raided by bandits and enemy nations. You only need an iron mine to make iron, so you can pump out weapons and tools much faster and with way less vulnerability.
Properly-made steel is much better than either, of course, but ancient steel was pretty crappy and it has gotten much stronger with time. In the modern era, the steel industry is an indicator of overall economic health.
Huzzah, a mare of quality!
It may not be intended this way, but it reminds me of the "He was one day from retirement." trope. It adds a nice bit of humor.
