A prodigal child is born once more with a strange condition that makes her uniquely gifted in a lost magical art. Unfortunately for the child, that art is soul magic and Celestia does not tolerate the manipulation of a soul under any circumstances.

Two more updates are coming down the pipe, expect them very soon.
Well that has plenty of good information. I wonder where they will find Luna in the modern time period?
And so the conflict begins.
I wonder how this will affect Celestia, or if it will impact the future... I'm really loving this arc
awesome chapter, that was so tens at first
Sounds a bit like nuncia
oooo is luna trans?

Dont thank me. Two generous patrons antied up for extra chapters
Good chapter. I like the way things are unraveling so far. One question though. Is there a way I can give more than one thumbs up?
I am absolutely loving this story
And so it seems that this was indeed not twilight's previous life she been getting snippets from but from even earlier. I look forward to more and luckily they coming soon :3

It's a small thing that I don't know if I'll have the time to expand on, but it's still something I wanted to include nonetheless.

Just the name.
Well, this was one a heck of the ride and one a heck of the week.
When I saw first cover and read description I thought that first law of magic was "you can't run from death forever". You surprised me.
This story waited a long time in my "Read later" list and now I waiting new chapters impatiently.
Damn, your characters is incredible but let rant about Sunset's ark.
It became clear for me that Sunset sabotaged Twilight's assassination by her second appearance in story. And when she buried this unknown soldier I'm already knew that Sunset would be free from her. The dead have a knack for to be grateful for those who bury them, many folklore stories agrees to this.
And Everfree Forest. Grave of two gods. Brutal, unpredictable but fair. If you ask it for help, if you willing to make a treaty, if you live up to its expectations - it will help and never deceive or trick you.
And I like to think that a spark of Sinthgunt/Discord's soul live in Spike.

I expect Twilight to scream at herself when she unpetrifies that alicorn statue out in the Everfree town plaza, heh.

He didnt fly into an all caps rage and tell someone to kill themselves.
You need a life.
That... Explains why Celestia didn't recognize Twilight from the beginning of the story... Phew, that little thing has been irking me since the start.
Whelp, now we know who started it all, and to think it could have been avoided if Twilight would have accepted Celestia's offer at the start of this story

then Twilight had suffered the same fait as Sunset, most likely.
had she been genuine, she should have approached much earlier in Twilight'sdevelopment.
Celestia know everything she should have needed to know, didn't she?
Is Luna in this story trans? Because Celestia's slip-up of almost calling her "brother", plus the more masculine form she has in this period of time makes me wonder. And if she is trans, why?
Oh, fuck! The Alicorn statue in the Undertower is actually Luna herself.
I'll get my earplugs ready.
I did take a bit of a hiatus from reading this story, so my memory of the scene isn't the best. But was Twilight not there when Rarity explained the origins of the Aracne being a result of a group of Unicorns getting trapped underground, and in order to survive, Luna gifted them with the ability to eat other things by hybridizing them with spiders? Or was that intended to be just a theory?
Or did you just forget about that like how you forgot that Fluttershy isn't a Thestral?
Is the reason Modern Celestia the way she is is because in Twilight's future past life, Twilight had a thing for Luna instead of Celestia? Is the reason Celestia is the way she is because she's jealous? Is Tyrant Celestia actually that petty?

But that would create the bootstrap paradox. If she had accepted Celestia's offer in the beginning, she would've never gone to the past to learn how to resurrect Luna, because Celestia wouldn't have become corrupted, and so she wouldn't have killed Luna. If Celestia wasn't corrupted, she'd have no reason to seek out Twilight for being a Necromancer. And then she would never have been given the offer in the first place. And if Twilight never went to the past, then Cadance likely would never have been resurrected (or at least not until much later). In short, if Twilight had accepted Celestia's offer, the offer would've never been made in the first place. It's universally impossible for Twilight to accept that offer. This timeline literally can't exist without Twilight going to the past.
Although, this story exists within a bootstrap paradox. This series of events exist because Twilight went to the past. Twilight time traveled because Twilight time traveled. It's a causality loop. Celestia's offer can only exist in a timeline where Twilight will reject it because otherwise, she would have no reason to go to the past and cause the series of events that would lead to why Celestia made that offer in the first place. In this timeline, Twilight time traveled because Twilight time traveled. Although calling it a paradox is weird because of the nature of time travel in the first place. The Bootstrap Paradox is only a paradox when applied to our linear perception of the progression of time. Time travel is a giant middle finger to the linear progression of time. In other words, the Bootstrap Paradox isn't really a paradox when applied to time travel, which is the only reason why the Bootstrap Paradox exists in the first place. How's that for irony? The Bootstrap Paradox is itself a Bootstrap Paradox.
Either way you look at it, this timeline exists in something that we would perceive as a paradox. It'll either exist in a Bootstrap Paradox (which isn't necessarily a paradox, but just a causality loop), or it exists in a Grandfather Paradox, which actually is a true paradox (although in a way, it would be the inverse of a Grandfather Paradox, but it's a Grandfather Paradox either way).
Then again, this is assuming that this is where the corruption starts.
