Twilight lives in the land of dragons with her dragon family. She is content to be surrounded by her personal library, assist her high priestess mother with her rituals, occasionally organize her high-ranking officer father's files, tutor her little brother in royal manners and sometimes hang out with the third princess.
Moondancer is princess Celestia's protégée. She loves to hole up in the Canterlot research center and eat ice cream with her friends. She is also sporadically insecure about her worth, but she knows that her friends are there to help her through. With them at her sides, she can overcome anything ; she is invincible.
Simple wedding invitations would be the things to disrupt the surfacing tranquility. Except they are not simple wedding invitations. They are entrance tickets to a sinister plot and the gateways to a war between the three empires.
This story was inspired by Twilight: The Dragon Sorceress written by Wicked DG. The premise might be very similar, but I expect my way of handling it, and by extension the end result, will be completely different.
Please note that this story was planned before Gauntlet of Fire. The elements presented in the episode will most likely be completely ignored.

I had this marked when the prologue popped up but hadn't started it yet, glad to see another chapter so soon so it's more than just an appetizer; the premise alone is fascinating. Further, upon reading it, the writing is solid and the world building is coming along, though we're still just in the hints phase, touching around the edges before filling in pertinent details. Looking forward to moving forward, definitely nice work so far. It seems as though we're dealing with considerably smaller dragons than we've seen in canon... well, other than Spike, or am I reading that wrong? I really hope that's a completely different artifact set with different powers, because Harmony =/= Order and that would have rather far-reaching consequences for Equestrian society if they have so different cardinal virtues.
Different as in, we wouldn't even recognizance them different. Quite possibly 'society is so different the characters shouldn't even have the same names or personalities' level different.

Just that I've seen AU setting where the writer somehow forgets that the Elements slash Tree of Harmony are cornerstones of what inspired Equestria's cardinal virtues.
And well, it can get just a bit~ silly when such a big whopping part of the world's backstory is altered, but all the ponies keep acting like... well, to be blunt that Friendship is Magic when the day clearly was saved by The Whatsits of Whatever.
Things have swerved most intriguingly from canon Equestria. Looking forward to the wedding...

I'm a little confused, what was the purpose of the ritual and if it was the cause of twilight's changes then how does that equate to her being a danger to the dragons?? Can you clear that up is this going to be an important mystery later?
7472063 me think the ritual is kind of like what the princess do to raise the sun and moon but most likely it key to the planet and something that dragons are able to do, like move the flow of lava under the ground or make the planet livable and magical. but what ever happen it energy went into twilight turn her into part dragon.... this is all my random theory but it what I choose to think what happens till the story say other wise.......
