Somber

Comments ( 117 )

I haven't actually read this yet but just from the description and the writer, i know I'm in for a good ride and definitely putting a like on straight away:yay: another somber fic squee!

Gonna probably regret this one, but fuck it.

You have my curiosity.

~Skeeter The Lurker

Ooooh, dus gun be gewd!!!!

Noticed a couple things...

Her horn glowed and the bridle twilight wore

Capitalize Twilight.

Might as well paint a bulls eye on your head

Bullseye is one word.

Dear lord what crime could she have committed that Celestia would put her in that hellhole? And gor how long,

What the heck did she do to get sent to such a place?!

That's what I want to know!!!

¡I get it! ¡This is how S01E03 "Too Many Pinkie Pies" should have ended!:

In S03E03, the Mane 6 commit genocide. To this day, I cannot rewatch that terrible episode. I figure that Miss Twilight Sparkle magnanimously takes the fall:

In S03E03, Miss Pinkamena Diane Pie creates sapient copies of herself. Miss Twilight Sparkle decides to murder them. Miss Pinkamena Diane Pie comes up with a test for distinguishing them. This says something about the writer Mister Dave Polsky:

1 of the strengths of the show is that the writers are free instead of micromanaged. In Season # 01, Mister Dave Polsky abused that freedom by writing the antiscience-episode S01E15 "Feeling Pinkie Keen". He should have been put on probation for that. He wrote a progenocide episode and Hasbro just produced it.

This is mine headcanon for how the Mane 6 escaped imprisonment for their actions in S03E03:

The Mane 6 testified that the duplicates were not sapient, and got off on the principle that ponies are innocent until proven guilty. This is mine headcanon for the story:

5 of the Mane 6 murdered the original Miss Pinkamena Diane Pie, thus accidentally sparing a duplicate. ¡The committed equicide! examination of the surviving duplicate showed conclusively that she is sapient. ¡The mass-committed equicide against approximately 100 ponies. Rather than letting the remaining 5 of the Mane 6 go to prison, Miss Twilight Sparkle takes the fall for her 4 remaining friends.

Miss Twilight Sparkle should have shown more pain and bled during her defloration. I imagined that she would have wept because she wanted to give her virginity to a Very Special Somepony —— ¡not a cold metallic speculum!

I mentioned that I tried to create headcanon about how the Mane 6 escaped prison, but it would leave the Mane 6 monsters, so as far as I am concerned, S03E03 never happened. Hasbro should fire Dave "ProGenocide AntiGenocide" Polsky.

7069353
7069317

She canonically murdered sapient beings:

In S03E03 "Too Many Pinkie Pies" she commits genocide. I suppose that in this universe, she could not convince the authorities that the duplicates were not sapient. I wrote a comment about this:

Miss Twilight Sparkle probably went to prison for the genocide of sapient duplicates of Miss Pinkamena Diane Pie.

Loved the chapter and damn do I love your previous works, man! :3 Already from the first chapter --God did it make me depressed-- I can already tell this story's gonna be a gud un!

What the flying fuck did Twilight do? Misfire a spell in Canterlot that caused a foreign diplomats head to explode "Scanners Style"?

Or did she do something..... Did she Destroy a City? Have her way with Celestia while under the effects of intoxication? Murder Prince Blueblood in cold blood? WHAT!?

7069432 7069465 :facehoof: Seriously?:facehoof:

That's probably one of the silliest things that I've ever heard.:facehoof:

Rather than the Pinkie Clone mess... how about when she brainwashed a whole town and cause a riot shortly after Discord? Want It Need It ring any bells? It could have easily turned violent and even if not, she's definitely guilty of something.

Still... not sure I'm going to continue to follow this one, seems rather... somber.

7069574

It is only silly to you because you are in denial:

When the 1st duplicate could not both attend the barn-raising and the picnic, she was clearly distraught. These duplicates are at least sentient, if not sapient. Even if the duplicates are not sapient (killing them could still be considered animal cruelty), if Miss Twilight Sparkle would accidentally kill the original Miss Pinkamena Diane Pie and spare a duplicate who is in essence, a talking Winona, she could still go to prison for the equide of Miss Pinkamena Diane Pie.

7069743 If she just wanted to kill them, she wouldn't have had to use a specialized spell. She sent them back to the pool.

Obviously Twilight Sparkle forgot to send a Friendship Report by her deadline.

Or maybe she took the blame for Philomena's turning to ash and Fluttershy's fear of being banished and locked up in a cell in the place she was banished came true

Twilight clearly ate Celestia's cake... She is lucky she didn't end up on the moon.

¿What does "back to the mirror-pool" really mean? We do not know. The could be alive and well, alive and imprisoned, or dead. We do not know.

7069465 A theory until the story says otherwise. As for killing a sapient being, I doubt the mirror pool clones would have been considered 'alive' but more as magical constructs. And if true, the other girls would have been there along side her as accessory to murder. Twilight would not have been able to 'take the fall' for it. No, she did something else I think.

Clicked on the title without even checking who the author was.

A green pegasus raised her head from her bunk as they passed and looked right at the pair, blinked her eyes and shouted, "Hey! New mare in the cunt!"

Wait a minute.

*scrolls up*

Oh, of course. :twilightsheepish:

Kidding aside, you're definitely in your element when writing grimdark. And, you've got a hook in the first chapter. Good. Very good. Like everyone else here, I'm wondering what the hell Twilight did. I'm anxious to find out, but of course you can't just come right out and tell us. That would spoil the surprise.

7069743 :ajbemused: I have no words for this reasoning, so I'm not even gonna try to rebut this.:facehoof:

No other author depressed me quite like Somber. Wanna follow this but it makes me feel ill to read.

Rated mature and sex tag.

This is gonna be good.

Eh...nice concept, Somber. But after reading, I think I'll just pass on this one. Something tells me I'll only spend the entire time seeing red. I really don't need that nowadays.

7072575 That's fine. Ultimately it involves Twilight making 5 friends in a place where Friendship is supposed to be impossible. I can understand if it's not your thing though.

7071461 I know that feeling I just want to know what the fuck she did to get put in here or what they say she did. I can't honestly read this its just to damn depressing to read. If you can author can you send me a message telling me what the hell happened cause I am sorry but this just plain hurts to read (Its not a bad story its just not making me feel good to read it)

7073023

Heh, if you get it, forward it along this way. I could use it.

Quick question, is Twilight a unicorn or alicorn in this story?

7073319 will do.

While it doesn't seem like a bad story in the slightest and some people would and do really love this genre of story I myself and I guess Nadir are not one of them. But you can take this into consideration you got 2 people who hate reading this type of story wondering what is gonna happen in it. This means that for those people that are hanging on the edge of saying whether they would or would not read this type of story they will most likely read it. So while I myself won't read it still getting a Like because it is well written and thought out.

I love a well-written dark genre story. If I'm a sadist, then so be it if it means I can get constant access to stories like these.

I totally need to see more of this. Just like with PH's intro, in one deft stroke, you've introduced us to the ass-end of hell itself. :rainbowlaugh:

Research! Or, I dunno, something that'd seem fitting for this story.

Finally got to read this one and like it so far. Scratch that, it's a masterpiece. I do wonder what she did to deserve this, but I'll have to be patient. Waited long enough for Horizons to get finished so waiting for this one wil be easier. In worst case I can reread Horizons another couple of times. Hope it doesn't end up like Broken Accords.

I didn't quite get this part, though. Is there a mistake in this sentence from near the end of the chapter?

The black stallion lifted her head again, regarding her flatly as it all hit her at once.

Because the cell is already locked by this point, the guards are outside and her cellmate is a mare.

i would not be opposed to seeing this continued, hopefully into something like an original AU

She made eye contact with one of the nurses. "How... how could you?" she asked in horror. The yellow earth pony turned and stared, her eyes widening as her gaze bore into Twilight's.

She spat right in Twilight's eyes. As Twilight cried out, clenching her lids closed, the yellow mare hissed. "Don't you ever, EVER ask me that. I know what you did!" she hissed.

"Lemony," another mare behind Twilght murmured in warning.

"You should be glad I didn't keep twisting those till you ripped in two. That's the least you deserve for what you did," she said as she walked out of sight. Eyes burning with spit and tears, Twilight could only hang her head in shame as she was rinsed and then released.

I don't actually understand what's going on here. As far as I can tell, 1) Mare A mentions a interesting incident, 2) Twilight reacts weirdly, 3) Mare A yells at her, 4) Mare B warns Mare A, 5) Mare A gets one more dig at Twilight.

I don't understand Twilight's reaction at 2.

Other than that, this was a interesting start to what will surely be neat little adventure. Personally, I'm waiting to see some of the characters introduced to Twilight get developed, especially that teacher.

Your reasoning actually is valid and sound, despite what everyone else says. If the world of MLP were real, instead of fictional and the events of 'Too Many Pinkie Pies' did happen, and your theory about how the Mirror Pond works is true, then your complaints have weight. Killing 26 (I counted) sentient beings is a pretty heinous. But protesting the event of TMP is equivalent to protesting the events of any given fantasy world where horrible shit happens. Which is . . . most of them, actually.

My personal headcanon is that the mirror pond works like a denumerable version of Sam Hughes' hypertime framework. This is consistent with e.g. some pinkies pies coming out of the mirror before the other pinkies go into the mirror and allows for the Pinkies to be sent back into the mirror painlessly. It doesn't explain how the mirror!Pinkies behave sub-sapient and lose some of her memories, but I chalk that up to an edge case of the source of Pinkie's Weirdness(tm) interacting with the mirror magic.

Miss Lemony is is mad at Miss Twilight Sparkle for whatever she did to go to prison. She could have used a small speculum and beed gentle, thus preserving the hymen of Miss Twilight Sparkle. Instead, she used a large speculum and was rough, thus tearing away the hymen of Twilight Sparkle painfully. Then to add insult to injury, she cranked open the jaws of the speculum until the vagina of Miss Twilight Sparkle is on the verge of tearing. At same time, she had another speculum in the rectum of Miss Twilight Sparkle, which was cranked to the point where it almost tore her anus and rectum. She also felt around for contraband extremely roughly with a metallic probe. What Lemony did was rape.

It is nice to encounter somepony who is not in denial. The duplicates are at least sentient, and maybe sapient. The episode is so disturbing, that I cannot rewatch it. It is not part of mine headcanon because it makes the Mane 6 into monsters.

¿Could you please upvote my comments? because if the difference between downvotes and upvotes is 10 or greater, the comment will become invisible. The downvoting flankholes are like ostriches burying their heads in the sand so that they can pretend that an obvious truth is not obvious.

Your speculation might be entirely correct. But nowhere in the story is it alluded to. You're just making a baseless assumption, and launching into a tirade. You're dragging in a discussion about an episode that, so far, has no direct connection to the story at all, and writing your comments with an absolute certainty that's insulting to everyone who disagrees with you. You made a very provocative, off-topic comment, and I'm not surprised at all to see it get downvoted.

I do not claim that S03E03 is the POD. I just point out that that it is the most likely POD (Point Of Divergence):

If the ReManeIng 5 would accidentally kill Miss Pinkamena Diane Pie, and the accidentally spared duplicate turned out to be sapient, the ReManeIng 5 would face. many charges. Miss Twilight Sparkle could have taken the fall for her ReManeIng 4 friends.

Another potential POD is S02E03 "Lesson 0", assuming that somepony died in the riot. This is a lower probability because killing 1 pony accidentally is not likely to get her locked up forever.

this looks interesting i think all read

very interested in this story and hope to see more soon.

When are you going to post the rest of the chapters of Project Horizons?

Do you know when the next chapter will be posted??

Maybe this isn't much to base things on, BUT I noticed this is tagged with "Trixie".
Whatever she's in here for, I just can't help but think Trixie framed Twilight.

I'm LOVING what I see so far. I've always been a fan of the grim-dark near horror stories, provided they have a good plot, and you sir have proven to me through your other stories that you can deliver exactly that. I believe I can speak for a great many when I say we would absolutely love it if you did decide to come back to this later.

Seriously, if you could write and upload the next chapter by tomorrow, that'd be great. :derpytongue2:

I feel there's a few questions that really need to be addressed, such as why she is there, before I can add this to my fave list.

Is this story still being worked on?

I thought It said My Little Pony: Friendship is incineration

Yet another good story, thanks!

Loving the story so far, keep it up!

I still don't believe a place like this can exist in the MLP world. Any other world, or if Celestia and Luna didn't exist, sure. But Celestia does exist, and we don't know what Twilight did, but Celestia would most likely personally come see her very soon for any number of reason.

What's more, her brother is the highest ranking guard. Higher rank than anyone in the prison. There would be no way for them to prevent him to going to see his sister, especially if he's married to Cadance as thus has the rank of Prince.

It's an interesting idea, but there is nothing that I can see about how such a place can exist and be so bad, and that just pisses me off, as it has you torturing Twilight, just for the fun of it without reason. A Twilight Abuse fic without story or reason. Which to me, just makes it a bad story.
