When Cadence gets into an accident she has to wear a cast around her neck. As the days go by her wings do not do so well and an itch has developed on her wings, making it unbearable for her. Shining Armor, seeing her plight, then offers his aid in helping her, even though he himself is a novice as to how to properly Preen.

Ha! That was a nice little story. I was skeptical of the flashback form, but you made it work. Including the 'future' sections toned down the 'harmlessly manipulative' vibes that Cadence gave off in the flashback. It ensured that their affection seemed both mutual and equitable. Nice work!

imagine if cadence told twilight this story and she thought that she can get flash to do the same thing to the same effect but then their would be a twist that flash has already done this type of assisted preening for an elderly grandparent that required assisted preening much to the small dismay of twilight.
