Skyeheart

Will work on later

E

Twilight Sparkle was annoyed to say the least, when her mentor Princess Celestia dismissed her warning of the Mare in the Moon and assigned her to go to Ponyville to supervise the Summer Sun Celebration. 'Make some friends' she says.

The thing is, Twilight already had friends. Friends she's had ever since she got into Celestia's school for gifted unicorns, friends she's taken for granted for many years, friends who she just happens to bump into before leaving Canterlot and invite themselves along to the celebration.

Between the crazy ponies in this little town and the crazy ponies who call themselves her friends, she finds herself at her wit's end while being constantly sidetracked in trying to prepare for the fabled Nightmare Moon's return. After all, it's not like these old schoolmates of hers are going to be able to help prevent eternal night and the end of Equestria as they know it, right?

All my yes! Unicorn Six GO!

This already seems like it's going to be hilarious.
Alright everypony, place your bets now on who gets what element!

A very interesting premise, though in all honesty I was wondering when someone would get around to it since the episode premiered. Do not take that as negative criticism though, this story is off to a very good start and I do look forward to reading more! I especially look forward to how Twilight's old friends interact with the ones who will her Ponyville friends and if they move to Ponyville or stay in Canterlot.

Been waiting for someone to do this! WOO!

This should be interesting... :pinkiehappy:

MINUETTE IS LAUGHTER.

I BET 100 BITS.

Hooray for team squishy wizards...

Kinda rushed her arriving at Moondancer's party. Seemed unrealistic that way.

But, other than that, good start.^^

I recommend a comedy tag.

Congrats on starting another AU Skyeheart! Let's see where this one takes us!

Inb4 Glorious Unicorn Master Race.

This should be interesting. Straight to the 'Favorites' page!!

C'mon Twi you're not Jerry Peet you can be nice.

I remember watching the episode, and then when we get the picture at the end, I was thinking to myself, "Wait a minuteeeee...SIX unicorns? SIX? M.A. LAAAAAAAAARSOOOOOOON~~~~~~!"

Good to see someone's writing a fic based off that, as long as it takes off the ground and clears orbit. I absolutely adore how Minuette and co. are capable of completely derailing Twilight's plans in going to Ponyville, but damn I fell in love with her character in the space of one episode.

Who can resist those adorable shades?

Owlisicious: Hoot. Hoot.

Indeed, who?

Double the friends, double the fun and double the crazy! How could this possibly go wrong?! ... Or how could it possibly go right? Hehe...

Excellent chapter, and excellent pairings for the elements to be going to instead. I wondered whom would get which, and this pretty much explained it. Nicely done.^^

I love the chemistry going on here. Twilight is such a stick in the mud.

The way the Alternate Five get along with the Mane 5 is delicious, and I adore Minuette. I can barely tell if any of them are even aware they're basically trolling Twilight (outside of Lyra, who realises this and does help Twilight out at the end).

"Yes well, I think I know a little better on how to take care of my dragon than some obscure reference from a pony who lived fifty years ago since I've been doing that ever since I hatched him," Twilight cut Moondancer off through her clenched teeth as she entered the library and proceeded close the door on them both.

Possibly the first time in history Twilight says experience might trump what a book says, even if it's not for altrustic reasons.

Another excellent chapter, eh?:D

"WE ARE NOT FRIENDS!!!"

Ouch, poor Moondancer. Out of all of them that probably hit her the hardest. Also I see one huge fault in Twilight's logic, which was present even in the show. Wouldn't having more ponies along increase the odds of success in finding the Elements?

Lyra shook her head. "I can't just sit on my rump while my bosom buddy is being held hostage in dreamland! And I'm certainly not losing another one by letting her run suicidality into the deep dark forest all on her own!"

Suicidal. Suicidality isn't a word :twilightoops:

Given the events of Slice of Life, it's really unfortunate that Bon-Bon let herself get caught in Nightmare Moon's sleep spell. Looks like she's rusty!

Series start Twilight is too easy to rile up (hell, even several seasons in she still is as long as you know what buttons to push), and it shows! She is rather unfair (Lyra manages to push Rainbow into cleaning up the clouds, knowingly doing it to help out Twilight, and Moondancer doesn't really slow her down on her own at all), but that's Twilight for you. Now to learn the power of friendship.

Excellent. I look forward to seeing where this goes!

That's why she gave in at the end.

I will continue to reiterate, maybe forever, that if Twilight didn't have her blinders on, she'd be angry at the correct party:

All this crap is Princess Celestia's fault in the first place. I mean, did she really think the best way to make sure Twilight had friends to activate the Elements with was by dismissing and marginalizing her concerns in almost the most condescending way possible?

................................... ok 3 things 1 to many unicorns 2 just y? ans 3 ya Lyra!

Almost seems like Lemon Hearts fits Kindness here instead of Honesty.

It would appear we have found Loyalty and Kindness.

It appears Lemon Hearts has a very convincing tongue. The number of dis-trustees against "Nectar" has been reduced from three (Lyra, Twilight, and Moondancer) to two-and-a-half (Twilight, Moondancer, and part of Lyra).

Kindness and Loyalty found.

I'm beginning to wonder who the real Element of Magic will be here. After all, we have six (count 'em, 6) unicorns here, and two of them were the real hardcore pros at magic. Despite Twilight being the Princess' student and the canon Element, remind me...who was it that was taking baby steps with making friends and throwing her first party at the start of this story?

Since they've never flat-out said what Celestia was doing during the Eternal Night in canon, there's always multiple options for what she might be doing (trapped in the sun, making back-up plans, etc.). I would love for Moondancer to get the Element of Magic and make her (possibly) careful plans go awry. That, or Moonbutt meets Moonbutt.

Twilight Sparkle is a racist meanie. Honestly, referring to Nectar as "it" even though she's demonstrated a preference for feminine pronouns. Why you gotta be so mean, meanie?

6391471

She's just a bit agitated from the stress of the situation, trust me, she'll get better.

6392149
Well, that's fair to say. If I'd just survived a rockslide and a +10d6 sneak attack, I suppose I'd be pretty upset, too.

Interesting. Though, I'm of the opinion that the Changelings' transformations are physical, not glamour. HOWEVER, I could still see them as a threat to Changelings with those mana draining webs. After all, takes mana to transform and maintain a transformation.

Hmm... Perhaps my concepts here for them will interest ya: http://regreme.deviantart.com/gallery/

So heartwarming. I wonder who each of them thought of when giving Nectar energy.

6484448

Technically, I believe it's both. Strong enough illusions can actually be physically manifested, and changelings I think on a biological level have the ability to manipulate their genetic makeup with their magic, it stacks to make it more convincing.

But they're both still a class of magic, and the point is, transformation or illusion, arachne eyes can see through all of it because they can see the magic.

6484624 Makes sense.^^ I think that the transformation is physical, since the series has many examples of physical transformation being easier than mental. Buuut, wouldn't be surprised if young changelings practiced illusions till they learned to control enough of their magic to learn to transform without hurting themselves in the process.^_^

So Lemon Hearts reaffirms being Kindness, and Twinkleshine is Generosity, eh?

Man, it's weird seeing Books Horse being upstaged, even if it is by Books Horse Recoloured. Still not too sure who'll be the real Element of Magic, if it'll be Twilight as usual or if we get a plot twist and it's actually Moondancer.

This chapter was AWESOME:rainbowkiss:

Especially the changeling-feeding scene. :rainbowdetermined2:

This was a good chapter. There is another story about the canterlot 6 as element bearers by the way.
It's called sisters in all but blood.

hey, just thought I'd let you know, the music link ain't workin' any-more:applejackunsure:

Other than that cool chapter.

6504267
Odd, it's working for me. I even tested it.

6504271 Well I got a Youtube:

This Video is not available
sorry about that

Maybe its something to do with locality or something, I donno, maybe it just doesn't like Australians or something:unsuresweetie:

Minuette called after the siren as she splashed away. "DARE to be stupid, miss sour note!"

I see what you did there. :rainbowlaugh:
