There are many academy records in the Wonderbolt Academy, and Spitfire loves getting cadets to train hard and shatter those records.
There is one record she never wanted to see broken: the Academy Death Record. In the ten years since she became a captain and began training cadets, the Wonderbolt Academy has never seen a single pony die in action. That record was broken today when a malfunctioning piece of training equipment took the life of one of the newest recruits... and a personal friend of Spitfire's.

I do! I regularly search for Twilight/Rainbow stories (when I want Twidash) or Vinyl/Octavia (when I want Taviscratch). I also search for individual characters on occasion when the mood hits me.

4843209 Sometimes people just put other to add in surprise. So, you know that someone's in it and you're technically adding their tag. You're just not specifically putting them in. They should've done that. There have been a few stories on this site with twist characters and they just put other, so it doesn't spoil it.
P.S. I do look up stories by the character tags, but that's only if I'm looking for a specific story and I don't remember the name.

You sir managed to turn an annoying meme into an amazing, emotional, thought-provoking story. It was wonderfully crafted. By far the best thing was the huge focus on Spitfire's turmoil instead of something common such as her friends. There was none of her going around to apologize, only to get a door slammed in her face. There was none of her quitting due to her mistake. Everything was about her struggling, and then eventually returning to honor the memory of a friend.
For this amazing story, I bequeath to you...a mustache.
