I really like the start to this HiE! It was great, and I only noticed a couple of grammatical errors (For example, "Feel the void" rather than "Fill the void"). Aside from that, the only negative thing I have to say is that he was a bit too quick to believe ponies were real. The background story to your protagonist succeeded in depressing me, because my own father was never really good for support, basically leeching of my mom, and after the divorce, she supported myself and my sister solo. It made me think of that. Now that I say that, I think the mom gave up too easily. Maybe she could get a dangerous job, and work herself to death trying to feed the family? All in all, I liked it. Faved and tracked, please continue this and stay awesome.

It is well written, and an enjoyable read, but the main character, from the stand point of any rational being, could be seen as insane (before the prophetic dream). I disliked that the main character has a "destiny". Instead of showing up based on his own research and findings, and only being recognized as an odd being upon arrival, he would be recognized (at some point at least) as the messiah you have already set him up to be. Don't let my criticisms discourage you however, as they are simply based upon the content of the intro, which is of little consequence in the grand scheme of things. Hopefully this critique of the established concept will result in a more original body.

I'd usually go on about how HiE's always seem to end up with a guy with a "troubled past." But this one struck a peculiar chord with me. My own parents divorced, in a manner similar to the couple described here. You really reminded me how it felt to have something like a family get all...broken. It changes you. Even now, after more than a decade, I feel as though I lost something precious. I guess all I have to say is that I like this story for reminding me of that. In a roundabout way, it's important to keep remembering these things.
