About my 'before comment', the movie is a good one. It takes in account what happens throughout California if there were no Mexicans. One of the best examples was the Dodgers team.

Hate Discord. It doesn't matter whether you exist, what a heartwarming message. He should erase himself from existence next. And that makes Diamond change her ways? Knowing everything is completely futile? That doesn't sound very convincing.

actually if he really showed her a Ponyville without her, the CMC wouldnt exist. The ponies would exist but the club would have never come to be.
Applebloom wouldnt have become obsessed, she wouldn't have gone to Rainbow Dash (who forever damned them with her tactics of try as many things as you can just once, without research or practice) and it wouldn't have been at Diamond Tiara's cuticnera that they meet. They came together solely in defense of Applebloom.
The CMC would have to be formed in a different way and possibly better planned out. (WITHOUT Rainbow Dash's influence.)
also it's canon that Silver Spoon got her mark first. "Silver Spoon got hers, I just got mine." I believe were Diamond's exact words.
also Applebloom wouldn't have abandoned Twist. Sooo yeeah.. sadly not allot of arguments to be grateful Diamond exists.

That doesn't make any sense to me. Whether Diamond Tiara existed or not the CMC not having cutie marks would not have changed, they'd still not have them.
Actually, it's not Apple Bloom who's obsessed but scootaloo. This is amplified by her being a pegasus with abnormally small and undeveloped wings with which she cannot fly so, with that said, you can see double root of her obsession: lack of cutie mark, lack of useable wings.
Now you're contradicting yourself. First you said the CMC wouldn't exist and now you're saying they'd have to be formed in a different way? And how in the world would Rainbow Dash not still be a part of Scootaloo's life? I don't see their relationship as being either non-existant or changing since that relationship stands independently from Scootaloos involvement in he CMC.
What season/episode is that shown in?
As I recall Applebloom didn't abandon Twist but that Twist left the CMC because she'd gotten her cutie mark the day she was making candy canes at the candy factory. Well, the one argument that I can present in favor of Diamond Tiara's existance is that the show, itself, would be a lot less interesting without her.

Just a suggestion but, if you should decide to try a story like this, again, why not try it using the Rashomon Effect? In other words, tell the story from the perspective of several characters who conflict and even contradict each other? That's always a nice approach. Perhaps, from Discord, Celestia and Luna's perspective. Since they're immortals I suspect that they may not be subject to the same effects of time changes and shifts mere mortals would be. It's just a thought.
