As the ponies of Equestria sleep, Princess Luna looks after their dreams and keeps the nightmares at bay. But as Luna herself sleeps, she is plagued with her own nightmares, brought on by the guilt of her actions as Nightmare Moon. Recent events have prompted her to face these nightmares, however, because nothing can last forever.

A young businesswoman dies after a life consumed by the pressure to succeed… and is reborn in a world of magic, as a filly with a rare condition that alters her coat. At least this time, she’s been born into the warmth of a loving family.

Now she must adapt to a new life alongside her new family. But what our reincarnated protagonist doesn’t know yet… is that her siblings are destined for greatness: one will become the Princess of Friendship, the other the Prince of an Empire. And her? She has no destiny—because from the very beginning, she was never meant to exist.

Now she wants only one thing: to live without pressure. She doesn’t power, or a place in history. She just wants to enjoy her new life.

Everything was going well… until she discovered her talent: The ability to create illusions. And maybe—just maybe—she’ll use that power to pull off a few tricks with a hint of mischief. Sometimes, she even surprises herself with how much she acts like “Loki”… but unlike him, she could never lift a hoof against her siblings. They’re the only ones she truly loves.

This is a rewrite... or something like that, of the original story, "A Lazy Sister."

“Two possibilities exist: either we are alone in the Universe or we are not. Both are equally terrifying.”Arthur C. Clarke

If you send a message to the stars, you just might get a reply. If one person can hear you speak, so can others. Some who hear your cry will extend a hand in friendship. Some will hear and think only of what they can gain by force.

Rainbow and Pandora learned this when Pan’s nightly chats his interstellar pen pal lead a fleet of interstellar pirates and slavers to Equestria. Where they found Rainbow’s friends.

Neither of them are happy about it. Both will try set things right, or die trying. Even if that means being lost forever in the void between stars.

(Update: Complete!)

Brother Chester is on a routine recruitment mission for the Holy Mother's love cult when he becomes a witness to attempted murder.  And that quickly becomes the least remarkable part of his day.

Suddenly, in every possible sense, he’s caught between two worlds – between Equestria and the human realm; civilization and wilderness; heroes and villains; and most importantly, between two versions of the most remarkable woman/wolf/dragon he’s ever met, embroiled in a lethal magically-augmented feud.

Armed with nothing but the power to see emotions, Chester’s going to need to learn how to navigate them.  And fast.

There is a prequel short story, Fang and Flame, which introduces two of the three main characters — but this was written to be accessible without it. I recommend reading it as well, but this blog post has everything you need to know.

hawthornbunny has written a fanmade guide to Chester's color sight!

Years before the prophesized thousandth, Lord Night Light was an asset of the Crown.

Word has travelled to Equestria about suspicious activity in the nation of Farasi, signs that an organization called the Thunderstrikes are in search of an artefact originally thought lost to time. Night Light has been summoned to secure that artefact, an amulet of unicorn make, and return it to pony hooves.

Joining him will be a dangerous mare who calls Farasi her birth home, and who will provide him his cover, along with a pair of charismatic locals, all with the same goal: To be sure that the amulet is retrieved as quickly as possible, and that he survives the retrieval.
