Since their defeat at Canterlot, the changelings have been surviving solely because of the generosity of the Equestrian government. After most of their drones were killed in the invasion, the remnants, still led by Queen Chrysalis, live off periodic deliveries of love magic from the Equestrians.

One day, a strange creature appears deep in the tunnels of the hive. The new arrival creates many new decisions for Queen Chrysalis to consider.

Figured I'd post something for 3 year anniversary, already got multiple chapters done so a consistent update schedule can be expected (for a while at least).

This is my first LoHAV/LoHAH story. I know how hated the genera is, because it's so overused, but I like the idea of being taken from your home only to be shoved into a world where you don't belong.

Also, some credit is due in the department of the idea. The steampunk theme was inspired by the story Son of Invention, a great story to read if you like this one. The character of Mike goes to this image. I looked for a long time and the closest I could get to the artist was this page.

After a thousand years without its mistress the night sky is in need of some serious renovation. With some encouragement from Celesitia Luna decides to make renovating her sky into a show for all of Equestria.

This was inspired by the song in the video Children of the Night.

A bat pony traverses a large cave network dubbed "The Trials," hoping to become part of Luna's elite.

After several attempts of putting it away, Celestia gave up as it always found it's way to it's chosen owner, Twilight. Years later, Rainbow inherited a pith helmet that belonged to her great-grandmother, Daring Doo!. Now, both objects, the "Helm of Indy" and Daring's "Lucky Pith Helmet" are in their hooves as they find adventure drawn to them...

*Old Mare Harrison: Okay, Twilight has had it with Celestia's GMing! And she's finally snapped! The madness begins...

*Pinkie and Twilie are a little Loony: Pinkie went to what university? And... wait, what was that Twilight!?

*Twilight... Phantom?: When Twilight was very young, she stumbled across this strange portal and turned it on...

Princess Luna is sick and tired of her sister lording her 'Elements of Harmony' over her! She is an alicorn too, and she deserves six faithful subjects willing to do things she's seemingly capable of doing, but doesn't feel like doing! So she does what any princess would do; heads into her kingdom in search of a 'mane six' of her very own. She'll show Celestia that just because she's been on the moon for a thousand years, doesn't mean she can't recruit some loyal and steadfast ponies to do her bidding. Though, it may be harder than she originally anticipated.

When a group of day guards and Grey Plate call a new bat pony recruit - Midnight Flow - a freak, she seeks for answers about the origins of bat ponies. And they come from the most unexpected place.

When Discord returned to Equestria, after a thousand years of restless imprisonment, he was the embodiment of insanity. When the good Ponies of the empire heard of his intentional release, they were flabbergasted. Why let this maniac roam free and wreak his "Chaos" everywhere? However, soon after his release Discord began to calm down. He was seen to possess a strong ethic and, an admittedly sporadic, reserve.

After a while Princess Celestia saw fit to put Discord to work, "for the good of Equestria." His most recent charge was to write a book on Chaos. Discord however, has other plans. He has been conflicted about the nature of his release and subsequent freedom. Ultimately he becomes obsessed with finding out the "real" reason he was freed.

This takes place in a Season Four cannon that exists without Rainbow Power and ends before the Finale, hence the AU tag. I might try to figure out how to canonize it fully at some point, but I'm not holding my breath.
