//------------------------------// // Just a little Chaos... // Story: Harry Lefert's Drabble Bin // by Harry Leferts //------------------------------// ____________________________________________________________________________________ As she watched as her friends walk into the basement of the library, Twilight flinched some as she saw Rainbow rub her foreleg with a grimace. "I'm really sorry about this Rainbow, but it was needed." Rainbow just waved her off with a hoof. "Yeah, yeah. Still don't see what the big deal is with this thing. We find it and zap it with the Elements and BOOM! All done." Twilight glanced at a desk where the EoH are currently sitting and sighed. "I know Rainbow, but the shard of Discord's power that we've been tracking just won't stay in one place long enough to reach it, let alone to hit it." Applejack looked at the reddish-brown highly stylized circles in the middle of the room, runes and symbols all aound them. "Tha's what ya'll used our blood for Twi?" The lavender unicorn just nodded as she looked herself. "Yeah, the ritual should bring it here and bind it long enough for us to get rid of it." Frowning, Pinkie just shook her head in disbelief. "But why do we have to get rid of it Twilight? It hasn't hurt anyone! It just causes funny things to happen!" As she took a breath, Twilight shook her head as she scowled. "It's part of Discord and that's never good news Pinkie! Who knows what this thing might do or cause!" Having spotted Pinkie hang her head, the lavender Unicorn walked over and laid a comforting hoof on her pink friend's shoulder. "Sorry for yelling Pinkie but when it comes to Discord... and the fact that some Ponies have nearly gotten hurt..." Pinkie just nodded before she once smiled a little. "Okay Twilight! I understand." While she flipped her mane back, Rarity looked at her fellow Unicorn. "So what must we do darling?" After she turned, Twilight gestured at the array. "I need each of you to take the spots I tell you." She frowned a little. "Now, it's going to drain you of some of your natural magic, but don't fight it. The array needs magic from all three types of Ponies to function. It'll use it and summon the entity before trapping it inside the inner most circle." She then tipped her head to the Elements. "Once that's done, we don the Elements and use them against it." She than looked her friends over. "Just to let you know, but the array will continue to draw energy from us right up until the entity is gone." As they looked at each other, the mares nodded. Applejack then turned and nodded at Twilight. "Ya'll can count on us Sugarcube." Twilight smiled a bit as she too nodded. "Okay then." She then became serious. "Take you positions girls!" Once they do so, she activated the array and the room is bathed in a glow until it faded leaving Twilight panting. "That... took a lot more out of me then I thought." Rainbow just nodded before she spoke between breaths. "You weren't... kidding... Twilight..." When she looked into the center, Fluttershy's eyes widened as she spotted a glowing cloud there that was continually changing shape. "Is... that it?" After she blinked, Twilight studied it for a moment before she nodded. "Has to be." She flinched some as it hit the internal barrier and bounced off before it did it again and again. Fluttershy bit her lip some at that. "It... looks scared." As she looked at the other girls, Twilight sighed as she too felt a lump in her stomach. "Yeah..." She then took a breath and nodded though. "But sadly, there's no other way." She turned away from the thumping of the barrier as she walks towards the EoH, a tear slowly dripped from her eye from the sounds of panic coming from the other side. 'No other way...' It didn't take long for them to don their respective Elements and to take position. As she felt the familiar power as it flowed through her, Twilight and the others looked at the panicked entity inside the barrier. The same thought then echoed through their minds. 'I wish there was another solution.' They're all blinded by the familiar rainbow colored light, and when it faded, the shard of Discord's power was gone. As she sighed, Twilight looked around at the others as she saw the same expression of guilt on their faces as they remembered the struggles of the entity to get free. Licking her lips. "Um..." At that moment, Spike poked his head into the basement. "Er... Twi? You done?" As she looked up at him, Twilight gave a slight nod. "Yeah, it's done." Spike just smiled. "Oh!" He then blinked as he takes in the expressions, his own fell at the gloomy atmosphere. "Oh... Um... I was just going to tell you that I made some soup for dinner so..." Twilight looked around and took a breath before she let it out as a sigh. "Sounds good Spike." She then nodded. "We should get the Elements of Harmony back to Princess Celestia as soon as possible anyways." The gang slowly made their way up and out of the basement, Twilight being the last as she used her magic to shut off the magic as she closed the door. However, she never noticed the array as it softly glowed with a rainbow colored light as it's drawn towards the center, the blood that made it up having seemingly liquified... ____________________________________________________________ Two days later, an exhausted Twilight and her friends arrived back in Ponyville after having taken the Elements back to Canterlot (and also some catching up with the Princesses and her family in Twilight's case). As she walked through the darkness of the night and opened the door, the first thing that greeted Twilight's eyes was a number of book piles which caused her to rub her head with her hoof. "I must have forgotten to tidy up before I left..." As Spike headed to the kitchen to make them something, she used her magic to quickly place them all back. A few minutes later, Spike walked in with a plate of sandwiches and drinks for them as he frowned. "Here you go Twilight. Sorry it's not much, but it looks like we need to go shopping." Twilight blinked through her sleepy mind and frowned. "I could have sworn we just got the groceries the day before we left..." Having shaken it off, she sighed. "Pinkie did eat a lot though." Soon after, they head to bed and passed the guest room door, not having noticed that the normally closed door is ajar. Almost as soon as they hit their respective beds though, the two fell fast asleep. A few moments passed and Twilight's bedroom door opened and the small pitter-patter of feet ring out. A small shape in the darkness then crawls up onto the bed and studies the sleeping Twilight for a few minutes before crawling under the covers and snuggling up to her as it happily sighed as Twilight unconsciously cuddled it. "Twilight Mommy..." The night soon passed and the sun coming through the curtains caused Twilight to stir. Smacking her lips, she squeezed her eyes shut against the glare. 'Ugh... you couldn't have waited a few more hours Princess...' She then felt the small body against her which caused her to chuckle in her sleepy state. "Heh, you know that could have woke me up before crawling into my bed because of a bad dream Spike." A minute later her eyes snapped open as she heard her assistant's voice as it rang out from his basket on the other side of the bed. "What the hay are you talking about Twilight?" Now fully awake, Twilight's mouth dried. 'If Spike's over there... then who...' She slowly tilted her head down and lifted the blanket to reveal a head of white hair with two differently shaped horns that came out from it. At that moment, the small dracoequinus then sighed as it snuggled in closer to Twilight, while it whispered in a young filly's voice. "Mmm... Twilight-Mommy is back..." Her mind completely blank from a combination of things, two words managed to slip from her mouth before she could stop them. "Oh... buck..." ________________________________________________________________________ As she rushed around, Twilight tried to find some information on what had happened as on a table, the little dracoequis sipped from a juice box as Spike kept an eye on her. "I... I have no idea how this could have occurred!" Spike just blinked and looked at Eris. "You know, you're pretty quiet for a dracoequis." She just smiled around her staw as she swung her feet beneath her. "Yup! Just like Fluttershy-mama!" She then frowned. "Um... Twilight-Mommy, is Rainbow-Mommy, Applejack-mama, Rarity-mama, Pinkie-Mommy, and Fluttershy-mama coming over today?" Twilight nodded absent mindedly. "Yeah, I'll send for them in a... bit..." She then turned and gave the small child-like chaos bringer with a raised eyebrow. "How do you know their names?" She just grinned showing a gap in her teeth as she giggled. "The special magic told me Twilight-Mommy!"
