Six months after the events of Kiss of the Dark, Twilight is deep into her pregnancy with Sombra's child. The foal is due any moment now, and she grows more excited by the day.

However, her memories of Sombra still haunt her. Torturing her in her dreams, making her feel guilty for the things she's done with him....

Once Celestia catches wind of it, she takes it upon herself to help her former student once more. After all, its best that they fix things once and for all before the foal arrives...

King Sombra has been imprisoned again in Shadow since his defeat and the shattering of his body, but he is no less cunning and ruthless. And as Luna tries to interrogate him over time, she finds there is a softer side to the unicorn king, one nopony has seen before. But Celestia fears for her younger sister, warning Luna against Sombra's advances. Is the once-tyrant truly starting to court Princess Luna...or is she simply being used as a pawn in his plans to regain power?

Being a dragon amongst a world of ponies isn't easy. This brings Spike to do some late night research of his own on how to remedy this problem.

His research brings him across an amulet once worn by an Earth Pony who was madly in love with a Pegasus. The amulet transformed the Earth Pony into a Pegasus and allowed him his beloved Pegasus to live happily ever after in Cloudsdale.

The last known whereabouts of "The Amulet of Love's True Form" was in the very cave the stallion and mare would secretly meet at. This location now had largely been consumed by the Everfree Forest and had become known as "The Cave of Forbidden Love".

The journey sounded perilous. However, for Rarity, Spike decided he would bravely take on whatever the Everfree Forest had in store for him. Though, can Spike stand up to what lurks within the forest depths?

The two ponies I care for the most, my dear sister and most faithful student, have betrayed me. My most loyal guard says I'm just being paranoid, but what would he know that I don't also? I thought the nightmare was over, but now it's clear it never went away. In fact, it's only gotten stronger and more cunning, as evidenced by how it's turning all that I hold dear against me. Well, it won't succeed, and I'll do whatever it takes to make sure of that. Mark. My. Words.
