Ever since she was a filly, Pinkie Pie has been visited by a guardian angel. They're always together. She was Pinkie's first friend. But other ponies can't see her like Pinkie can.

Luna has seen the dreams of ponies for centuries now. Happy dreams, sad dreams, dreaming of a secret crush, memories of a lost love, all that one can imagine. They all reflect the pony doing the dreaming, and sometimes she goes in to assist them in their problems.

But when she goes into the dream of Twilight Sparkle one night, the most beautiful sight is waiting for her inside.

Yet, still here, was Apple Bloom, alone and with a blank flank. They didn't need her, nopony did, she was worthless. She knew, from her training on the apple farm, that rotten apples don't bloom, they don't grow, they aren't needed. She was a rotten apple. She would never get her cutie mark because she was worthless, and she knew it.

First, her sister Sweetie Belle gets involved in a fire at Sweet Apple Acres with the other Cutie Mark Crusaders, spoiling Rarity's plans to spend time with Applejack and Rainbow Dash. Deciding to return Sweetie to their parents, Rarity makes a new plan for the evening.

What Rarity doesn't seem to realize is that she may be letting her anger get the best of her. As she continues to rage and blame Sweetie Belle for everything that goes wrong, the simple truth behind the whole sequence of events continues to elude her, and she is set on course to making a terrible mistake.
